Comment:

Not as bad a teacher as this site makes her to be! I would take her again, but I don't think I would be super hyped about it. She's fine, that's about it. She does assign lots of work though, but as long as you do it it's like an easy A. Takes long sometimes on some papers, and you're unsure about your grade, but otherwise okay. Cool teacher.

I would get frustrated that she would complain to me about my papers and how I can improve. Even though I never got most of my papers maybe 2 back until finals week where I knew I stand for my grade. I get it she professor she's busy but she terrible time management skills. She would forget to unlock HW so I would worry I would turn in HW late etc

Prof. Harada is an average professor. She has a lot of discussion assignments on Laulima. So keep checking often! She does a lot of group discussions for each essay, but she takes a long time to separate people into groups. Fair grader. Not a lot of extra credit.

A bought a book for this class, but we barely used it. So I feel like I wasted my money getting the book. She doesn't update her grade book as often so I was not too sure what my grade was through out the semester. She does not allow people to be on their phones. She talks a little softer than most teachers I've had, but she's still strict.

Really hard. If you don't like literary analysis do not take this class we read 4 whole books and a play in one semester. she does discussion questions online every week. It takes her a long time to put people into groups which gets annoying. She is nice though just a hard class if you don't read or write or go to class.

Through out the whole semester I got only 1 out 5 papers back. I never knew where I stood grade wise which was very frustrating. She was helpful at times, but the whole not getting papers back really killed it for me. Participation mattered because you got points for group work but I missed about 5 classes and I still passed with a B.

Comment:

Textbook usage heavy though absolutely unnecessary. It almost seems like she reads off a script. I don't feel that she is passionate about her subject which only lessens my motivation. However, she does care about her students and if you're willing to approach her nicely, she will try to help you. Good with off-site communication. Overall OK..

She's a teacher who's there for you if you need to talk to her and get help but sometimes when I did ask for help, she'd tell me to do something that wasn't helpful and that I was already doing. She opens Laulima at odd times and closes them at weird times as well and she didn't post grades on time. She's a nice woman though.

Lots of essays. More than should be required. Got an A, but had to work for it. Just stick to the guidelines she provides and you should receive a passing grade. She's very strict on grammar, so be mindful while doing the essays. Other than that, theres lots of group work so you'll be interacting a lot. You have to read your essays to your group.

I beg all of you not to take her course. It's finals week, I still don't have my grades on ANY essay I've done. How can I improve or know my mistakes if I don't even have feedback. Seriously, I'm not paying for this class just to write essays. I want a response AND an estimated grade of some sort BEFORE I do my final exam.

She is horrible when it comes to teaching. Extremely boring, spends class time on useless things. She also gives horrible instructions, she is so unclear and sloppy. She also does not help. I emailed her two days before class, and she did not reply. She then emailed me after class saying "I answered your question during class". NOT HELPFUL.

Nice lady but SUPER BORING. She repeats herself over and over and she's a total grammar nazi. Homework is the same all the time, nothing different or fun. 4-5 essays, and you have to read them out loud in groups. Not recommended.

This was a hybrid class. Harada is not organized and her use of Laulima is confusing. You will do far more writing than required for KCC WI requirements. All but one paper was not graded until after the final and feed back was not provided. There are better classes available, take one of those.

Ms. Harada is a good instructor. I took a hybrid class: in class one day a week, posting online once a week. This class fulfills the WI and HAP requirements. Read 5 books and wrote 5 papers through out the semester. The only thing I didn't like was she took a long time to return papers (more than a month). Overall, good class, good teacher.

Mrs. Harada is a really nice lady. She'll always try her best to help and explain things to her students. She even brings them food. However, the homework is a lot to handle and the reading is fast paced so it gets difficult to keep up. Also, every book read has a essay so in total around 5 essays plus online posts if you take her hybrid class.

Nice woman. Understanding if you can't make it to a class, even switched my final day. The class itself though was extremely boring. she'll keep you in till the last minute even if theres nothing left to do. Paper topics are uninteresting. Also the class was more of a hybrid with hawaiian studies which would be fine but i did not sign up for that.

She is just not a helpful teacher to the student if they needs improvement on wiring. Very strict grading on writings, especially on the grammars. She dose not review student's writing paper before the next writing is due and writing stays bad, she would fail you.

This was my absolute least favorite class.So boring.All you do in class is discuss with a group about the readings you had to do,and then present it in front of class.EVERY CLASS!We had to READ SO MUCH!She expects you to read 200 pages a week.And the readings suck.I DREADED going to that class.And she wont tell you when certain papers are due!

She spoke in a very low monotoned voice. Boring lectures that usually end up losing most of the students. While she seemed nice at first, she quickly becomes rude and not at all helpful. Teaches straight out of the text book, you would honestly be better off just buying the book instead of taking her class. WORST TEACHER I'VE EVER HAD.
