Comment:

Loves to hear himself talk. Glad hes not there anymore, but when he was, he really knew how to make his students feel stupid. It seems like that was his goal. The material was easy, but he insists on grading extra hard. Grammar, Punctuation, and all of that counts. Don't buy the textbook, waste of money. All lectures. Some not on the exams:

find another instructor. He is rude. He make you feel like you are stupid and worthless. I do not like him even after I go an A in his class. In the first day, he said that if you need the help of an expert then Lee College professor can be of help although if they were good the should not end up at Lee college. What a downer.

He is a strict but good professor. He is very serious about attendance especially during the summer, and will not hesitate to remove you from the class. I was always the nervous type when it came to speeches but i still received an A (i had to work for it) in the class. Always be there, do your research, and be prepared, and you should do fine.

stay away from this teacher he is very confusing and rude always changes lesson plan due to other people not changing their topics he is inconsistent and will not let anyone talk , absolutely no class interaction except on speech days and even then he limits the amount of people that will talk.

Comment:

Mr. Mendoza is very serious about class attendance and turning assignments in on time. I was given the LC Award of Excellence in Speech that year, and I had a tough time in his class. My advice: do a PowerPoint, but don't read from it. He likes them, but doesn't require them. Make sure you know your stuff.

Mr.Mendoza was a great instructor. All he wants from his students is a level of maturity suitable for college level work. That hard exterior is just a cover,he is candid, but aso very funny if you catch his jokes. Anyone griping about him are just being babies.

I really enjoyed this class. Many of my classmates complained about him, because he is a hard ass. However I truly enjoyed it. Mr. Mendoza made me push myself harder than I would have normally and I appreciate it.

Comment:

Took him for a summer course. Very much believes in attendance and punctuality. Does not put up with cell phones. High vocabulary level, but often explains words. Doesn't tolerate reading speeches, but isn't overly harsh in grading. Be prepared to do some work. Good sound teacher. Didn't require book. Does get off topic from time to time.

This class isn't hard if you are fully committed to it. He is VERY strict and he grades hard. He hates the word "like". He talks very formal and tends to use big words, and if you ask him the definition of the word, he'll make you look very stupid. But overall, he's a good teacher and you will definitely learn from his class. Take with caution.

Very strict but he is among a few professors that actually TEACH! He provides a CLEAR syllabus that gives dates for ALL assignments, if you dont realize something is due, its your fault! Not his! His instructions are clear and you'll actually learn a lot when you are done with his class! Might as well learn from the best!

Do yourself a favor and stay away from his class. He is so flighty and inconsistent, and he has a nasty habit of suddenly deciding that something is due TODAY that he originally said wasn't due until some time next week. I busted my tail and pulled an A, but others weren't so lucky. Either don't take him, or be prepared for the absolute worst.

I did not care for him at all. He was very hard, and I definately had to work at it. I took the class in 5 weeks during the summer, and we had to write/present an essay each week. He HATES when you read word for word, but will give you a better grade if you come in and practice giving your speech to him. Good luck!

Must be serious in his class. Not a lot of homework, but always come to class prepared. Whatever you do DON'T WRITE A SPEECH WORD FOR WORD AND READ IT!!! Go to the writing lab and ALWAYS get your Works Cited page checked.

nice person, but does set some boundaries. i made the mistake of thinking that this class would be a breeze since everyone had to take it to graduate and very few people actually become public speakers but this guy is for real. serious like the plague. get to work! made an A but i tried for it.
