Darrell Davies is not understanding about anything. He has been there way to long and fails to remember that this is only a beginner class. i do not recommend taking his class at all.

Comment:

Darrell is a very good professor if you put in the time and effort. You have everything you need to 4 point the class in the first day, just depends on if you motivate yourself or not. Study the A.D.A.M slides and youll do fine. Its all about what you put into the class. He cannot make you learn, but he can help you.

He is too tough, he has 4 take home opportunities with 25 points ea. You need to get 90% or higher to receive 100%, if you get less then 90% in one of them then your grade will be 0% for it! Just one extra credit, which you also need to have 90% or higher to receive the credit!

Needed it for nursing, wouldnt have taken it otherwise. Very funny guy, super tough grader. He wants you to take anatomy seriously, but tends to forget its an intro class.

I learned so much by taking his class. You are forced to study a lot so you actually learn the material. He sets you up for success you just have to put in the time. He is a nice guy but very strict against cheating. Get on his good side and you will be very happy with the class.

Comment:

Darrell is a great professor. As long as you work for it and spend time memorizing you will do fine. He has 30 points of extra credit which is pretty easy to do and very helpful. Show up to class in order to understand the lecture material and to do well on the lecture tests. Be SUPER specific on lab tests.

Davies is a very tough teacher, but he gives you everything you need to know in your manual. He always says " I don't like mysteries " He is very funny! you need to be VERY SPECIFIC on your answers on tests, especially your lab answers. I feel if you apply your self in this class, you wont have a problem. He also gives a lot of extra credit!

He is very clear about what you will be doing in class and in the lab. He gives you all the answers and shows you what you will be tested on in the lab practicals, all you have to do is study hard. The THO opportunities are generally easy if you attend all lectures.

He doesnt require attendance but in order to get a decent grade, I would recommend attending each class. Study, study, study. The lab exams and pre quizzes require you to memorize a lot so start studying for those right away. The lab portion is basically memorization whereas the lecture portion is more critical thinking.

Great teacher. He really knows his stuff. You will need to study in order to pass his class and should go to all of the lectures . He tells you up front how the class will be and If you listen you will do fine

Not a fan. Lab test aren't bad but lecture it horrible. He doesn't stay on topic. Exams are horrible he tries to trick you, and does not prepare you well. Does offer extra credit

Darrell gives you every single thing you need to succeed. I enjoyed this class a lot. It requires a lot of studying out of class and attending lectures and labs are crutial to understanding the material. If you have any questions ask him, hes very helpful. The material isnt hard its just time consuming. Study and youll be fine. Loved this class

I would take another biology class with him. He gave you everything you needed to pass a week before the class even started. He makes class interesting . He offers extra credit. Her updates Moodle every week. You can email him if you have a question about your grade. He tells you everything he expects you to do. Awesome Professor

I am a B+ average student. I never get less than and 85 on anything. In this class that did not cut it. If it was an 87 it went into the computer as an 0. His lab test are very unfair, he says the sentence or scenario out loud may show a few pictures and if you do not write down exactly what he's thinking is a zero. Do not take!! He mad me cry!!

You must read and follow the directions he supplies. He has no sympathy for those who lose credit because they fail to follow his directions. All info is available on line 24/7, he even records lectures. Lots of work memorizing things. Davies knows what he's doing. You just have to buy into his system to succeed.

He gives you all of the material you will need right at the beginning including lecture note outlines. Take home tests are pass fail but you can print them out and find answers as you go through lectures. He also records all lectures and puts them on moodle if you ever have to miss or need to go back and listen to something. Tons of extra credit!!

Comment:

Davies is very organized, he has your notes outlined and the lab work color coordinated. He doesn't put anything on the tests that he has not mentioned. The take home quizzes are 90 or fail but they aren't difficult, I did notice it helps to do them right after lectures when the information is fresh and they are what I used to study for the final.
