okay, here's the thing. dkbj will test your ability to participate in academia. You want to slap your essay in his face when you're done writing it, but it's so rewarding to complete his class. He's a smart guy and super funny, loves what he does. Gives you a hard time only to teach you more, and test your limits. love that guy

Do all of the papers he assigns- they are all your grade depends on. Also, read all of the assigned text. If you do this, and participate, David will respect you, and you'll feel like you learned something. What you get from his classes is entirely in your hands. Great professor, great guy to talk to. Super smart, and really loves what he does.

Johnson's approach to the class allows for the students to understand the material themselves. If the students don't understand the topic very well, he will lecture on it a little to give more insight. The conversations we had in this class during the semester were engaging and interesting. Thanks to the class, I will be switching my major to this.

Comment:

Johnson is a great professor. Sometimes you will feel very intimated by his intelligence and vocabulary. Johnson is a nice guy who will do anything to help a student, but only if you ask. Johnson does not take attendance and so its up to you to go or not. If you do not attend his classes you will still pass if you do the weakly essay.

I've had him for multiple classes. Some people don't like him, but I cannot for the life of me understand why. He is a remarkably intelligent man, and avoids being paternalistic. Respectful of all ideas, and runs his classes in a very effective manner. Also, he has a tremendous vocabulary of which I am extremely envious. Awesome guy.

He's intelligent, yes. His class is deep. But he can't seem to talk to you like you are human. He needs to be as verbose as possible and it sounds like he's just reading from the dictionary. He also always seems to find ways to say why your points are wrong, and the views in the book make sense. He doesnt seem open to new ideas.
