Prof Thomas is very sweet and caring. All she wants is for her students to succeed, and you can tell she enjoys teaching. She has a ton of experience is offers good feedback. Highly recommend

Comment:

Had Sharon for my 2006 Geography class and passed with a 98 average. I excel in geography so it wasn't difficult. A sweet lady and a fair one. Show up to class and pay attention - no problem getting at least an A-. Easily off topic at times, but still learned enough to give her credit as a great professor.

Comment:

No point in going to her class but she grades on attendance. EASY. She emails you notes before class, then stands up there and reads them to you word for word. Sometimes she goes on long rants that mean nothing but she's chill. Quiz once a week, EASY just look over notes and review maps. TAKE THIS CLASS. Textbook is needed for critical thinking q's

Worst class I've ever taken at MCLA. Be ready to teach yourself. Her lectures are not helpful at all, and there is a lot of information to take in at once every single class. Be ready for the long pages of notes she provides, that make absolutely no sense. Definitely would not recommend this class.

Most unreasonable teacher I'v ever had. The times and ways of teaching have changed and she hasn't. attendance-mandatory unless you are nearly dying, which isn't even the main problem with the way this lady runs the class. She is very set in her ways and unwilling to change. Expect to teach yourself if you want to learn anything at all or do well.

The landscapes class is useless, the quizzes are straight definitions, the videos are not relevant to today's society (most are on VHS that she taped at home off of the television with horrible quality). She doesn't know what she is doing most of the time. Oh, and say goodbye to your name, you will be a number now. I'm 2. Not worth it, at all.

Dear lord, this woman is an indescribably poor teacher. You ever get that opinionated moron standing behind you in the checkout line at the supermarket who just won't shut up? This is that person's mom. She brings in VHS tapes she recorded the night before off of CSPAN to show the class, and all the articles are really dated.

I've only taken one class with Thomas, but it was a waste of time. I didn't learn anything! The class is wicked easy, there's no good reason why you shouldn't get an A. She's an airhead. If you want to actually learn something, don't bother, she only cares about her own opinions.

Outrageous waste of time. If there were ever a reason to get rid of tenure, it would be for this woman. She clearly lets her personal opinions on issues get in the way of presenting an unbiased discussion. She is the most inefficient teacher i have ever had, not to mention the fact that she cannot even operate a dvd or vcr player without problems.

I would never recommend any classes with Sharon Thomas. I didn't learn anything, and I really dislike how she makes rude remarks regarding illegal immigrants. Not to mention, she is extremely religious and conservative. Also, there is nothing modern going on in the class, even though it's called Contemporary Issues. Most articles are from the 40s.

Sharon is a very nice lady who obviously loves what she's doing and it shows. If you take her class for granted, you will get a lousy grade and her classes are usually easy A's. True, she can be a bit spacey at times, but she is good-hearted and all you need to do is be patient.
