Comment:

Calc 2 is not an easy class and you have to put in effort to succeed. Dr. Bohm was definitely a challenging teacher, but she had a way of cutting through the book's nonsense to take you along the critical path to calculus. Her tests and quizzes were hard, but she would work every single problem on each if desired. I appreciate her methods now.

I got a B in my Pre Calc last semester with a different professor and that was my first year of college. This semester I can't pass a single test or quiz. I have gone to get a tutor and I have done all the homework. Doing twice the work as last semester and still can't pass. She's intimidating and too fast.

Really a pretty decent calc 2 teacher. If you don't put in the hours studying for each test you're not gonna pass her class, clear and simple, but that should be expected in just about any legitimate math class. She does have a tendency to be a bit unorganized in her lectures but she really wasn't all that bad overall.

Hardest calculus class I have ever taken. Teacher will do some math equations in her head and it might go over yours. Test are extremely hard and be wary of your notation.

This instructor should not be teaching. She is rude and disrespectful. She will belittle you and treat you like a moron if you ask questions. I attended tutoring at the student center and attended her open door tutoring. Nothing helped. I withdrew the day she handed me the answers and told me to figure it out. Class had 24 students - 5 remained.

TERRIBLE TEACHER I SWEAR SHE HATES EVERYONE. I've never had trouble with math, but in her class nothing makes sense. I had taken AP Calculus right before i started college and took her class. I wish i could retake that calculus class after my experience with her. Not helpful, doesn't know the answers to her own questions.

DeAnn Boehm teaches so fast it is near impossible to keep up. I never struggled with math before, so i thought taking a college algebra course wouldn't be too bad. She proved me wrong. She gets irritated by questions, even when she is proven wrong. Do not take her.

Taking Dr. Bohm's class was THE WORSE MISTAKE OF MY CAREER. I wish I would have read these reviews before I took her class bc they are exactly right. I am a straight A student and no matter how much time I spent with a tutor or how much hw I did, I would always do poorly on the tests' bc they had very little to do with the material taught. AVOIID!!

I signed up for this class because it was one of the highest rated I could find. I struggle in math and have for years. Dr. Bohm is very quick and sometimes its too fast to understand the concept. She rarely stops for questions and seems frustrated when you ask. She gives a lot of homework and not much of it relates to the test.

She gives a lot of homework but not all of it translates back to the test. As she teaches she skips test and moves very fast. Hard to understand. AVOID if youre able to.

Not recommended. She does 3-5 sections a day. Tests are on 2 chapters. You never review for tests. Always on to the next section the day before a test. She does not really teach, just writes and solves a problem on the board and then that is it. Never updates your grade so you never know what you have in the class. Tests are extremely hard.

Good teacher, terrible tester, all the red flags: Inconsistent grading, testing material before it's even taught in class, unclear notation format, tricks on the exams, taking points off for using methods TAUGHT IN THE ASSIGNED TEXT BOOK, homework problems not covering tested material... 3.7 college GPA, worst class I've taken.

I took this professor so that I could take the class at night. I really messed up. I have never received less than a C on any math test before this class. I really feel that I understand the concepts, and even fly through the book problems. But the way she grades the tests completely negate my study habits. The deductions are not justifiable.

I had her for both Calc1 & 2. She pretty much explains the formula/theorem/process on the overhead, then does examples. All quizzes and tests are free answer. Keep your work as clean as possible because she takes off a lot of points for bad notation. She's a good teacher for the most part but she seemed off this semester. Be ready to study lots.

PLEASE, unless you're a REALLY STRONG math student, and know exactly what you're doing, DO NOT TAKE HER. She is an extremely nice and helpful woman, but it's almost impossible to pass... there's no extra credit, tests are SO DIFFICULT and quizzes even worse. The test and quiz problems are absolutely nothing like the examples in class...

Also had her for Calc 2(got a B there, A here)She takes very complex subjects, plucks from them what we need to know & demonstrates how to do the problems quickly. Amazingly fast & has an obvious depth of knowledge.Dr. B is very approachable & nice. But she is serious about her self-defined duties of preparing her students for higher level classes.

When I took her I hadn't had a math class in about 2 semesters, so I had a rough start. You need to know your basics and do your homework if you're not good at math, because the quizzes and tests are challenging. She does give a fair bit of credit though, because I got the answer wrong at times and only got a few points off. With work, I got an A.

WARNING! DO NOT TAKE THIS TEACHER! If you are not a math whiz or excellent at Algebra you are doomed! Dr. Bohm is VERY smart and really knows her math, but she lacks the ability to explain it well to her students. Class consisted of a short description of the lesson then just examples. NO EXPLANATIONS! IMPOSSIBLE!!!
