Comment:

This was a class that met only every other week/every 2 weeks. Easy to talk to, easy to comprehend, and definitely a VERY understanding teacher (@ Harper). He gets that all students have different ways of learning. All tests/quizzes online, discussion boards, responses, etc. is very straightforward. There's no way to fail this class if it's Duffy!!

he is a tough grader , very keen on the details of your design, which is normal. also you have to attend full class or you are absent and you have to follow the syllabus very well. but helps you whenever you need him and answers your mails right away. its a fun class to attend ,he is funny sometimes, when youre a hard worker he enjoys being around

BRING DUFFY BACK!! I will be honest and say I did not pass his class but that was my own fault!! It doesn't matter if you attend every class and know the material, one still needs to work with him and turn in assignments (ON TIME) and abide by the syllabus and the schools requirements. I loved him for his genuine feedback and relativity to ones own self. He can help you succeed to become the artist (in whatever field) that YOU want to be!!! DO NOT take his kindness for weakness!! HE IS AWESOME!!

Picky, but fair. You will not get complete creative freedom in this class but if you take his suggestion, you will do great. Very strict about HCD rule! No eating/drinking in the class, no phones (understandable) but no ipods during lab time? If you are 5 minutes late when an assignment is due you get a 0% this happened to a girl in my class.

Duffy was a tough teacher but I learned alot in his class. He grades hard. You have to attend every class and stay the whole time. He's a nice guy and makes class enjoyable though. I would take him again.

Duffy is a great teacher, I was nervous at first about him b/c of other peoples comments but he's pretty nice and laid back. Good sense of humor though he hates cell phones and food in class. Pretty decent grader. He will also help you if youre stuggling and will meet with you outside of class. All in all a great teacher at harrington.

tough to understand and hard to please. grades things based on whether or not HE likes it, not necessarily on how good the project is. used a ton of extra materials costing a lot of money. interesting guy, but you will never know exactly what he is looking for and grades are unclear.

Had him before and liked him. Not anymore. He is rigid and picky and grading criteria for useless projects made getting a good grade impossible. He has gotten harder in his grading and is grouchy alot. Maybe he's approaching burnout - teaches a lot of classes.

I love the Stalin comment! I agree, Kim Jong makes everyone nervous as peers over you while you work,attempting to make a comment about your project. He doesn't give any good information on design. Hussein brings in books that he has "read",& tries to explain them,but ending up telling us that it is over our heads. No,Duffy,you just don’t get it

This man is Stalinistic in his attendance policy.He expects us to spend our full 4 hours in class when it is convenient for him.You either get to leave an hour early,or you have to stay until the last second,but don’t expect him to tell you which is right,because he will most likely mark you absent anyway.)He is inflexible and hard to talk to.

Nice guy. Boring projects..you waste a lot of paper! No terms to learn or anything..just useless projects. He is a funny guy and makes the class enjoyable,but I just think the class was a waste of time and needed more direction. We didnt do what all the other classes usually do for this class..so thats why I feel like I didnt learn much.

Great teacher for this class. Very helpful and knows his stuff. He is a tough grader in this class, but he gives great "demos" so you know exactly how to do everything. Tends to be a little laid back, but still expects great work. Funny guy, makes class fun. Take him, you will enjoy it and learn a lot too.
