Comment:

I took both mass media and was on the newspaper. Taking any of his classes is a coin toss each and every time. You either grow to love him or hate him. Probably the most maddening, yet rewarding experience I've ever had in school. I don't think I'll ever truly know where I stand on this guy.

I liked the way he taught with discussions rather than lectures, and I loved that he seemed to remember things about us to connect with us on a personal level. I also had a lot of fun in this class and it made me think a lot more about my media consumption and the way that media is distributed.

I really loved this teacher, definitely my favorite teacher at CSM! He was helpful, I never felt bogged down by work, and made me want to be at college. To be honest, his class was the only class I continued going to every week.

I disliked his class, it was boring and his love for himself became annoying. I feel almost guilty writing that since he is a nice guy outside of class. He is vague about what he wants and he didn't teach me anything really. I wouldn't take his class if you want a A as he makes that difficult to achieve. I wouldn't recommend his class.

Ed is a good teacher when it comes to journalism 110. The ratings below seem to be from people who are hurt by such an egotistic teacher. Yes he has an big ego but can you blame him? He gives no instruction what so ever! You do nothing, but not alowed to leave. is a waste of time. Note: if the staff is low, you will be required to turn in more assignments and interview people who dont want to be interviewed. it is an unfair class. learn nothing about journalism

A teacher who rates himself. HOw sad can you be? Be it advisor or teacher deffinantly not there teach you anything. Left class every time unsatisfied and unimpressed. Sits around discussing his glory days. Only advise to harsh to push a student unless off a building. Not for the amateur be careful if you have a heart he'll eat it.

Class is easy, bring in a media article everyday and he might ask you to explain it or not, and the class will get into a discussion. Watch TV for a week and write down what you watched and how much. He has a sense of humor so you can relax in the class.

some students get shell-shock in this class becuase,yes, it is a lot of hard work and responsibility.Writing for the school paper is a very important task and should not be taken lightly.If you cant handle critisizm, this is not the class for you. Ed is a really good guy and a lot can be learned from him. He doesn't appreciate slackers.

Learning is done outside of class, when you write, interview and get personal attention from the teacher. The lectures teach the obvious but necessary ideas(writers are curious but not voyeuristic)rather than actual techniques. Wish the class was harder.
