shes passionate and talks about interesting topics. however the quizzes and midterms have multiple right answers. you have to think of what she would like the answer to be versus what is actually just true. Its extremely frustrating. found the class interesting. but the way she grades and asks questions is not fair

She gets straight to the point. She cares so much for our generation and will tell you like it is. She writes cursive on the board as well. She gets down to the nitty gritty about america's past/history which isn't always pretty. Very intelligent and passionate.

Don't take her class if you are not ready to learn our history and come about as Americans without sugar coating. Don't take her class if you naively believe we live in the best country and government is in our best interests. This class is not for the faint of heart; it changed my pov on our country 180. Total 6 essays and 3 multiple choice tests

Extremely Left-Wing teacher, heavily criticizes Ronald Reagan, supports Barack Obama despite how poorly he's done his job as president. Really regret taking this class from her.

"the free market is flawed, how would a 2 year old can't work?"..... "I'm going to use big words in my lecture so you probably won't know what I'm saying" .... 'oh but I'm not arrogant." I'm dropping. good luck to everyone else who can tolerate her, i envy your self control.

Strong personality. KNOWS HER STUFF. All her quizzes were different-so that was new and not bad. Grading isnt very hard. Midterm was take home and final wasnt so bad. If you did well on everything else, then getting a high B or even an A in the class is not hard. You dont HAVE to buy her book.

Well she is nice as long as you don't contradict her. If you disagree it'll be bad. Sometimes her class can be boring. Your gunna find yourself unsure of whats gunna be on the tests because she drifts in and out of topics that makes them hard but the quizzes are easy. For the essays just write what she wants to hear. Don't take her if you want a A

Her lectures are very long and boring. She doesn't really have anything for us to do except listen to her talk, sometimes there are no notes. The class is not hard. The only reason I got a B is because I didn't study for the final.

She knows her stuff and has an interest in it, but few students know anything about political science, so there is not a lot of class participation. So she lectures. If you know anything about what is going on in the world and can speak up, you will quickly become a favorite. If you know some US history, that will help. Simple class, easy B+/A-.

I loved her class! Actually gives you a true meaningful perspective on Politics. Lots of history on how things really became the way they are. I was so worried I'd be bored in a typical American Gov. Class but everyone of her lectures kept me interested and I learned a lot. Easy to pass if you listen and read and do the straightforward assignments which are not much.

I am not saying that she's not a good professor but sometimes her lectures are a bit boring. It's hard to focus in class. Exams are mostly based on the lectures. A few quizzes+Final (MC+take home essay).

The class is interesting, but can get dull at times and she does go on tangents. The class is extremely lecture based. Take good notes you are guaranteed to do good in the class. The books are good references for her class, but are not necessary. Not an easy A, but not a complete waste either.

I really liked her as a teacher! She moves quickly through the lesson, but is very clear about what you need to take from what she says. She may have somewhat of a liberal bias, but she doesn't let it get in the way of teaching fair & balanced historical facts. The only way you'll fail her class is to not read the books or listen to her lecture.

I think the word bias is an understatement. Looks at almost all issues from a feminist perspective, regardless of its relevance. She does not seem to encourage any dissent in the class or in papers. If you're going for a good grade...I'd just tell her what she wants to hear.

I really like this professor --very clear lectures. Take good notes, it can really help you with the tests. Regarding her "liberal" bias, I found her willing to see other sides of arguments if you frame it thoughtfully and respectfully. Will hope to take more of her classes when I transfer to San Jose State. Recommend.

Her radical left wing views make you want to be more conservative. She's the epitome of the liberal nut. I'm a registered independent and she just made me a notch over to conservative. Total useless class.

Very opinionated but nice teacher. Many books to buy including one written by her but non are used that much. Grading is pretty fair though she tries to take points off if you have a different opinion than her so just agree. Spends most of the class talking about history and not really government. All and all not bad.
