Comment:

Sibanda is horrible. HIST 3001 is mandatory, so I couldn't drop (the whole class wanted to drop), and he is the designated prof. No organization, bad classes, and I have no clue about any of my marks since September. Readings were often on reserve (hour long reserve for 100 pages) and this is difficult for those who have to work and attend uni.

skip class you will have a very hard time following the lecture. A very intelligent and insightful professor, gives a second chance. Has a lot of respect for his students. but don't be deceived he is a tough guy. Attractive, has an infectious personality - hot!

My experience with Professor Sibanda was infuriating. Not only did he never follow the syllabus, but showed up roughly half an hour late to every class. In the beginning, he claimed that we could resubmit papers up until the end of course. However, we never got the chance to do this because we never received anything back. Frustrating.

Although I would agree with many of the comments about Kim being disorganized and lectures sort of all over the place, I thoroughly enjoy him as a professor. Highly knowledgable, very helpful and passionate about the material he teaches. Always willing to help his students in any way he can. Loved his classes, will miss him in the future!

I was extremely disappointed with this professor. I have a fairly high GPA and I am in my 4th year of University and this was by far one of the most frustrating experiences I've had with a professor. He gave the class an outline of what would be on the exam, saying that 95% of it would be the test. It turned out that only two or three questions

not always clear on what is due, but i feel that he does this to push his students to learn it for themselves and not simply copy his lectures word for word. Try to figure out the point he is getting to and you will get an A. If you want to think for yourself and really learn something. take his class otherwise, you will do poorly.

This professor completely wasted my time. His lectures were unorganized, he would assign projects the day before they were due, he did not follow his syllabus and refused to give an outline for his final exam. While he is nice outside of class, that really is the only place you should interact with him- as a professor he just is not good.

This Professor is a nice person, but he is frustrating as a teacher. He hands back assignments late and his lectures are all over the place. His directions and expectations are also unclear. Even the course material we studied was weak and poorly chosen. Studying with Sibanda was a frustrating experience. My classmates were also frustrated.

It is quite difficult ot rate Kim as he is probably the greatest person I have ever met at university but the worst teacher. Kim is very approachable and will stop you in the hall to talk about pretty much anything. His classes, however, are often disorganized and unclear. He also takes forever to hand back work. Great guy personally!

Really really nice guy. Funny. Fairly easy material (although some is really dry). The one major problem I had was how unclear he was on his assignments. I never knew what I was supposed to be doing for assignments and just kind of guessed. He acted surprised when ppl pointed out that they were confused too.

He is very knowledgeable. If his lectures are hard to understand it's because you haven't read the course readings when assigned. In seminar classes, notes from his lectures aren't neccessary as he is usually just trying to stimulate class discussion on the readings. You need to READ people, it's why you are in school right?

Great class when he knew how often reserve books are checked out I thought, no. I checked he is right, only one book had been checked once. Felt embarassed for the class. No surprise some can't follow his lecture, they don't read. Run their own class on teh side. No free lunch in this class! Sweet M
