I don't know why this guy has such a high rating. He is a nice guy, sure, but a bad teacher. He rambles. He is bad at explaining. His tests have material that wasn't on the homework or taught in class. Also, he goes over time. Sometimes he finally stops talking after an hour and a half.

Tries to learn the names of every student in the class. Good shift to online learning Spring 2020. Very funny and will call you out in class. Tests are difficult but follow an exact template he talks about before the test, so you can pinpoint your studying. Likes bicycles.

Profs are supposed to teach the concepts while GSIs teach you to do problems. Armero and GSI Jorge mastered this arrangement. Exams are very reasonable and test the same kind of questions every year. I think he genuinely enjoys teaching. A lot of his bad ratings are from CE130/92 - if you are taking him for CE30/ME85, he's a solid choice.

Hes a CEE prof. alright? So, he covers most concepts with Structural application (bars, columns...). Alright, ok! Hard to understand at times because he has some accents. But, he excellent if you pay attention always. Very into Mr. hinge. Has two projects for extra credit. If you are ME, choose the other Professor unless you cant. More ME stuff.

He is not the best at explaining things, so I learned everything from the GSI and book. His lectures didn't seem to be related to the homework or exam problems, so make sure to read the book and do extra practice problems. He notices whether you come to class, so try to ask and answer questions to get participation points.

Not the best professor. Tries to make lectures funny, but cannot explain concepts in simple terms. The book is your best friend. Your time would be best spent doing sample problems from the book instead of going to lecture. However, he does not give much work and his tests are relatively straightforward.

Clear lectures. Tests and midterms were kinda tough, but straightforward and similar to practice ones. Sometimes lectures get boring, but thats the nature of the subject. If you truly understand the concepts, you should have no problem doing well. He's also a pretty funny, approachable guy, definitely recommend his class.

Decent professor. I never thought the material was challenging but the competition was bit stiff. 100% on homework assignments and above-average scores on the midterm and the final was only good for a B. Regardless, I definitely learned a lot from him which is essential for upcoming upper-div ME courses.

This guy was the best professor I have had at Berkeley. His lectures are extremely well organized and crystal clear. He seems really serious at first but he turned out to be hilarious. This class was a lot of work though, so be prepared. But he is a fair grader and curved his ridiculously hard final.

He is very good at teaching concepts, you really feel like you understand when he lectures (which are excellent), but HW is on the hard side. Midterms are not bad at all (averages were MT1 73 and MT2 84). His Final was killer though!!! It was sooo hard (for the whole class), but grades are curved so it should be fair. Overall he's great(funny too)!

I really enjoyed Armero's class. Study hard and you will get a decent grade. If it is just to satisfy req's, take it with easy profs (although it really shows that students don't get much out of taking their classes, esp with Li).

The tests were very difficult. I could do all the homework, and try at it for hours and still get zeros on the assignments, it was very discouraging. His teaching did not at all align to the book and so there was nothing to cross reference. The lectures were good, but with no additional reference it was hard.

Excellent lecturer, one of the best I've had at Berkeley. 1st exam was moderate, 2nd was difficult, final was next to impossible. Too bad final is 50% of the grade. The text used was the worst I've ever seen. Armero assigns extremely hard HW problems. I heard Lubliner's class was a joke by comparison. Explains concepts very well, but tough.

Who knew you had to do work for a 1-unit class?! And how disorganized is it possible to be, I think I'm going to fail the class if he keeps losing my stuff. 1-unit classes aren't worth this much effort, take it when someone else is in charge
