Lectures are pretty interesting but the essay grading is horrible. If you don't write exactly what he wants, no matter how good it is, you won't receive a good grade. If you look at the comments, all they say is the thing that you should have said or an idea that you could have added. So basically, he grades your paper with accordance to his idea.

Cannot imagine a professor more understanding, insightful, accommodating, knowledgeable, and challenging. A's didn't come easy but delivered satisfaction indicative of knowing that you truly earned them. Encourages discussion and makes it known that mistakes have educational value and are not marks of ignorance. Highly recommended.

This professor is great. His class is not hard as long as you are willing to try. He is very thorough and will definitely improve your writing. LOVE HIM! The class consists of a few quizzes--all based on the discussions from the previous class, a couple essays-also discussed in class, and a final paper. By far, THE BEST ENGLISH TEACHER at Baruch!

What can I say, I love this professor!! He has an unbelievable grasp of the English language and literature, and it comes across while he is teaching. A few papers, quizzes, 1 midterm, and a final...do the work and you'll do well. I've taken him twice now and it's always a pleasure. Your grade will probably be higher than you expected too!

Prf Hentzi is an awesome guy! He has a sense of humor and really loves to help out his students. He is a strict one though. Only take his class if you really want to learn. I thought my writing was good before taking this class. However, when I look back at my old writing, it is all just put to shame. Excellent prf if you're dedicated to learning.

prof. hentzi is very understanding if you hand in a paper really late or are late to class. class was kind of boring and i fell asleep a few times but hey i guess someone else might think it interesting? pretty easy tests, minimal work, but got a b+ because it's hard to get an A on one of his papers

Let's just try and get that rating a bit higher. It's hard to imagine a finer professor. That's why to me, the worst aspect of his class was the assumption that Eng couldn't get any better. So, as I continue my studies at Baruch, I only hope that other English Profs stack up. Business School :(

First of all, I agree with two comments left by previous raters. One,how do you get an A in his essays and two, expect a grade of B from him. Professor Hentzi is excellent. I learn A LOT from him but I find him a tough grader. Does allow rewrites. Bottom line: If English is not your forte, hard A
