I took Prof. Petrich for a blended course. He was very quick to respond to emails. He is a funny man, and I enjoyed his lectures. He is truly concerned with your understanding of the subject material. My best advice: Ask questions! He was always very helpful and informative. Pay attention to detail, and you can do well.

Dr. Petrich wants the students to understand the concept, then try to work the problem. lots of extra information in the class, most of what you need to do is go online and download the notes . no textbook required.

I took the hybrid, 40 minute lectures in person with a three hour lab once a week that you usually dont spend more than an hour at. His lectures are endlessly long, boring, and pointless. That being said the three test were all online so google/quizlet... Hes easy but VERY late to put in grades. Final was easy and I hate chem. Lacks clarity, Easy.

He make me want to fall asleep, his lecture are way to long... it seems as he give you more like a chemistry history lesson instead of showing you the ways to do a problem. He very picky when it comes to grading (must spell right and have the right #) or he will take off points.

This Chem was a hybrid class, 40 min of lecture and 3hrs of lab per week. Most of the work is done on your own time which I liked. There are three online exams 30 questions, a 10 question homework assignment each week and lab worksheets that are heavily graded. That said, he is approachable for help if you need it.

Make sure you thoroughly read the chapters and do the practice problems. I took chem 1305 online and we had to take a quiz after every chapter. On the quizzes he will give you about 4 tries but doesn't tell you which ones you got wrong and some of the questions change each time. It was pretty frustrating. It was tough but doable.

Nothing personal! Takes off for unspecified material. Lectures are close to pointless. With that said, it is almost impossible to fail but also getting an A is not likely. Do not fall behind and do practice problems in books is a must in order to keep up with material to be tested on. Know formulas by heart!! He's helpful if u have time. UcanDoIt!

I took they hybrid online course with a lab. Perfect combination. 45 minutes of lecture a week with a 3 hour lab. The quick face to face time to ask questions was extremely helpful. If it had been completely online with lab I wouldn't have done so well. The test are online, open book but the labs are graded very tough. Great class overall!

I took this course two years ago, My schedule for work changed mid semester. Mr Petrich was very helpful, I took some tests in his office, and I was allowed to skip the labs, as long as my work was done. I received a B in that class, and I possibly didn't deserve it, but he helped me out a lot!!!

The class I took was half online and half in class with a lab. It was also for pre-nursing majors. I loved this class. Even when I began to fall behind, I emailed him and met with him and was able to recover and pass with a 75.6 and a 96 on the course final. Also, this was my 3rd time taking chem and it was a very memorable and positive experience.

He is a very good proffesor to take if you are taking the flex course! But take the blended that includes lab! It is extremely time consuming but well worth it & over before you know it. Quizes online are pretty easy. The midterm grade is an automatic A. He's very nice. This is a good course, I recieved a B.

Ok! For all those who talk so poorly about this man are clearly the ones who didn't pay attention. I just finished his FLEX course 8 week class and with that being said it was accelerated going twice a week! I received a B. yes you have to study because its science but this man is fair and does help. He does take off many points but he's helpful

Took the class online with no corresponding lab - BIG MISTAKE! Although he was fair (got a B), I didn't get much direction or feedback which made me feel like I was teaching myself. Very time-consuming - lots of HW and tests were, understandably, difficult. Take the class in person - DO NOT take this teacher/course online.

DO NOT TAKE HIM! He does know his stuff but teaches as though you have taken chem before. There is a ton of work which is expected in a chemistry class, but he makes everything much more difficult then it needs to be.

Dr. Petrich is very knowledgeable, but does get off topic. This was a blended, flex course, so it is expected that the student can learn independently (and quickly). Some of his questions could be a little tricky and he requires tedious discussion posts, but overall, it wasn't too bad.

This course was hard but it's chemistry after all. This guy was tough but fair. Not the most gifted teacher but he does know the subject. Treat him with respect and show him that you care about your grade and he will work with you. I hope i never have to take another chemistry course but if i did i would take him again.

I wouldn't recommend this professor. The tests are ridiculously hard and not based on the hw or lectures. It's like it's an intellectual game instead of chemistry. He doesn't follow thru w/any examples of one element. He's better one on one. He does take off for ridiculous things on lab reports. I made a B in his course. No fun.

This has been a miserable experience. It's a hybrid class. His questions are harder than the homework and you have no time to learn the material. He gives you four chances to do the homework; but you can't see what you need to work on to do better the next time, although the questions are different each time. Bad experience for an A student.
