I talked to him about my situation and how it would be really hard for me to afford both books and he made me buy them anyway although i didn't really need one. His lectures were good whenever he would actually talk about the relevant topic in class but he would often talk about how hard his life was. He also made us write an essay about marxism...

Oh DR Jackson! Where do I begin! Hes such a funny professor and loves what he does. This class was hard but I learned a lot and will miss it. This class is hard but pretty good. Hes kind of intimidating but means good. Only 3 tests and 1 paper. Start the paper early. Like everyone else said DO. NOT. LEAVE. YOUR. PHONE. ON.

Great professor. One of the best in the criminology department. Makes lectures hilarious and go by super fast. Don't be intimidated by him during the beginning of the semester. You will see your tuition in good use. 3 100 question exams and trust me they are not that hard. The 12 page paper seems hard, but a C is the lowest grade he gives for it.

Awesome teacher, you won't be bored. Attendance counts, and you basically will miss material if don't attend. Must turn off phone, if it goes off during class there goes 30% off your grade. Three exams, one 12 pg. paper. He is honestly a great teacher and will help you with almost anything.

Dr. Jackson is a cool guy and a great criminology professor. If you show up to class, take notes, and read the prescribed chapters, you'll do fine on the tests. There is a 12 page paper but it's a piece of cake if you put in a little effort. DO NOT let your cell phone go off in class or you'll lose 30% of your overall class grade!

Dr. Jackson is an amazing professor. The one hard assignment for this class was the paper, which wasn't very hard but was time consuming. He will take off a lot of your grade if he hears a phone so be careful. Good lectures and the three 100 question tests have a lot of material from each previous one. I would take this class again.

He is one of the best professors there is in the Criminology Department. He is very knowledgeable, he has great experience in criminology theories, and history. He is an easy going professor. He is a strict professor, but a great lecturer. You will get the education you are paying for well worth it with him. Be prepared to take 100 q's test's.

He is a great Professor, human being but omg his tests!!! They are all the same I guess after test 2 but I still managed to failed them. He doesn't go over tests so you won't know what you missed. And his tests are 100 questions. :( Paper 12 pages . He doesn't give room for students to improve like no extra credit. if you're lucky just one.

This class was pretty straight forward. The breakdown is a pre-midterm exam, the midterm, two sets of chapter outlines, and the final. He requires that you bring the text book to class since he often references to it during lecture. his lectures are all over the place but all the information you need to pass is in the books.

Definitely an awesome professor! Be prepared to read and put in the effort if you want an A. If you want an easy A this isn't the course for you. His lectures will keep you entertained, but don't have anything to do with tests. Jumps from one chapter to another. NEED 2 TEXTBOOKS. Won't survive wo them. 3 exams and 2 outlines on 10 chapters.

Would not recommend this instructor. Does not follow his own Syllabus regarding a 2 page paper. There is also 3 100 question exams he does not give study guides basically tells student read the book do study groups.
