Based only on exams. Showing up to class is not mandatory but i would not recommend skipping all the time. Exams are based on slides so study those and the textbook and there should be no issues. If you dont pass its because you made no effort to study

Mendoza was incredible, I appreciated his way of lecturing and how he simplified a subject I had so much trouble with in high school. 5 exams (study because these make up a majority of your grade!) 10 homework assignments (easy so do them) and 5 activities which are done in class so easy points. I recommend going to class bc it makes a difference

Mendoza is a great professor and is straight to the point. No book for this class, so his exams are purely from lecture/slides. Memorize the slides and lecture and you'll do just fine. Tests are worth a lot in the class so try not to do bad on any. Final consists of old exam questions changed a bit. Highly recommend. He is very fair

Don't miss class, and definitely record lecture. Dr. Mendoza will repeat key definitions and concepts that will more than likely be on the exam so make sure to pay attention. I mostly used the textbook for the figures that he uses in his PPTs. He's pretty funny which is great because I think biochem can get dry. He's a fair grader.

Everything is straight forward in this course. Yes there are questions on the test that will confuse you like any other professor but as long as you read the textbook, follow the powerpoints, you will pass. Don't fall behind.

5 tests. 1 Final. Doesn't collect hw. When u ask for help he gets annoyed that u don't get the concept. Reads the ppt so there's no need to go to class. Asks a lot of trick questions on exam so beware..

I love professor Mendoza! He's funny and has great examples during lectures. Make sure to READ the book and study powerpoint lectures and the old tests! Class average wasn't high, but this class only requires a few hours of studying per week, I only studied right before tests. Don't talk or laugh during class, he gets really upset!

Reading the book was easier to understand than just paying attention to lectures (almost entirely figures and tables). I studied, did the homework twice, read the chapters, and went over notes for the first exam an received a D+, I was very disappointed. Lots of material, read the chapters twice. He makes the class fun, but it's still hard

Horrible class! Professor is bad, material is uncomprehendible. Does offer office hours but doesn't really help. The class average is a D so far. Only 2 people have scores of 48/50 and he doesn't even curve. Nice person to talk to but really, lectures are hard.

Powerpoint notes very helpful. Review using the book to better understand material. He is very straight foward on what is going to be on the exam and so are the questions. Attend class and pay attention!!

Honestly, this class is very easy and Dr. Mendoza is so fun to have! He lectures from powerpoints available online, BUT I recommend handwriting your notes as it will help you retain info. READ THE TEXTBOOK before the exam as it will really help. Mendoza tries hard to relate material to relevant real-world experience. Class and prof recommended.

This class is the easiest course I have ever taken in my life. I do not think the prof wanted this class, so that may be why. Only work is take home mid term, final, and workbook pgs. All you do is watch movies, so if you just want to go to Blockbuster, you never have to show up except to turn in your work. Great for those who need a GNRQ BB class

This class is tough and time consuming. Read the chapters in the book and go to class. Dr. Mendoza is pretty helpful if you ask him questions during or after class. But you must be able to learn most of the material on your own by studying.

Prof. Mendoza is such a fun teacher. He makes a dull subject into something worthwhile. His grade is based on 8 exams (+final) and homework questions. He is crystal clear with what he expects. His questions are straightforward. Chemistry is not for dumb people. If you don't pass, it probably isn't for you. Don't blame Mendoza. He makes it so easy.

Really tough class but Prof. Mendoza is nice and always willing to help. His lectures and notes are clear and concise. I'm so relieved to have finished this class though. The organic portion is tough.

Doesn't really know how to explain the basics to people who don't have prior knowledge of the subject. His accent doesn't help. Just study from his slides, not from him.

Passed the class with an A but I worked extremely hard for it. Went to every single class. Sometimes I had to refer to the book to be able to get a better understanding of the material. Grades are based on 7 exams and hw questions. If you know everything on the Powerpoints and study the hw questions, you'll do well on the exams. An A is possible!

Goes off of lecture notes which are online. Test keys also online so you usually know grade within a few hrs. Lecture can be a bit confusing & boring, & yeah there are some typos on the test but he DOES give you the point as long as you actually see him after class. Cheesy but funny jokes & Spanish accent.
