I was a very good student at CSUN. This professor was only interested in her clarinet playing, shoes, and texting her men friends. She is not there for us students. She makes me doubt the value of a tenured system.

Dr. Heinen is fantastic. The best teacher and so caring about her students. She has helped me to become more of a musician than I ever thought I could SHe has opened my eyes and ears to the world of music. It is clear that she LOVES what she does and is the most dedicated teacher on campus.

All the students trashing Dr. Heinen are the ones who fail to do her work and follow clear instructions. Quit being the victim and using her as a scapegoat to your failures. Rules are rules and you get what you work for. She's worked hard in her life to be successful and that's the way it ought to be for all of us. She's a legit professor.

I can't disagree more with the negative comments made about Dr. Heinen! She's been the epitome of helpful! Her directions have always been extremely clear. She's always made herself available, either in person or via e-mail. Honestly, the only time I've ever seen her be "hard" on someone was when they didn't do what they knew they were supposed
