I had to withdraw from his class. He didn't care to explain things. he would do a problem then skip to the answer w/o steps. The way he grades the tests are stupid (5 pts) if you get half the answer right he will only give you 2 points. only 4 people got higher then a D on his tests. Dont take unless you have time to retake a math class.

This teacher is a nice guy but if you are really bad at math don't take him. His way of explaining a questions is to simply redo the problem and then move on. Attendance is not mandatory and he assigns homework but doesn't collect it. If you show up everyday and do the homework you should be able to get a B no problem.

Comment:

Used to teach math in the navy. Pretty clear about his rules in class, does not tolerate sleeping or cellphones. If you a the kind of person that does well on tests, it should be a problem getting an A. If you suck at taking tests, dont take his class. All the materials are based on lectures and if you miss one day, its gonna be hard to catch up.

One of the best teachers I've had. He explains everything very well, if you don't understand a problem just raise your hand and he'll explain it every way possible until you get it. He assigns homework but doesn't collect it, it's only for practice. There's only 4 tests, 20 problems each and the lowest score gets dropped.

Great teacher!!! I also took him for Math 253. He is very very helpful and he will work a problem from every angle until you understand it. DO STUDY and do all the homework. Not an easy class BUT you leave knowing trig. I would suggest this professor for anyone who needs to know math but also has trouble understanding mathematics

Retired Navy vet. Tests have 20 questions, 5 points each. Grading is pretty harsh. Know your unit circle, sin, cos, tan, etc. Genuine guy, liked him as a person not as a teacher.

Lets just say that I have all A's in my classes and got an F in his. His tests consist of 20 ?'s worth 5 pts each. Hw isn't required but it should be. Don't expect him to be lenient at all. Teachers should be excited about teaching and passionate-he thinks you're an idiot if you don't understand something. Half the class got F's on 3 tests.

I don't recommend this teacher for MATH 253. I would recommend Tarui instead. He's not personable which makes it hard to be interested in that class. But if you DO end up taking the class, you have to be on top of your game: homework, studying, no tardees and ATTEND EVERY CLASS!! This class is not for the lazy or indifferent.

Worst teacher! He is unfair in his grading. When i went to talk to him about how he graded my last test, he yelled at me and got defensive? very strange.. Long story short, he grades very harshly, teaches poorly, is unclear, has a huge ego, hates his job, goes off on weird tangents and wastes a lot of time. Bad personality and character

I don't know how anyone could find anything positive to say about this man. I had to re-teach myself everything. Going to class only causes confusion and frustration. He should of just been a donut taster and saved students dozens of headaches. HUGE, as in bigger then his pant size, waste of time. Extremely negative.

Never should of been a teacher. Terrible human being as well. Super negative. Sitting in his class is like listening to nails on a chalk board. I have never so passionately disliked someone so much in my life. He has such an ego but nothing to back it up. His teaching is unclear and he is constantly talking down to the class. Save yourself!

Worst teacher ever. DON'T TAKE FROM HIM. He marked me down 7 points my last test for not showing all my work clear enough for his liking, when I got all but one of the answers right. His grading is insane and he lacks the ability to care, listen, think and comprehend. I hope he retires/dies to save everyone their time, money and GPA's.

the worst math teacher I have ever had!! I had to read the book and re-teach myself to understand the work for every chapter. He is NOT HELPFUL!!! Grade is based off 4 test and a final, no homework is due, but test are difficult! each question is worth 5 points so its hard to get a good grade! I would NOT recommend him to anyone!
