Lester was my advisor, I took Political Justice, History and Memory in Postwar Central Europe, and Contemporary History of Germany, TA'ed Political Justice twice and The Supremes. Lester was my Div II and Div III chair, and I went to Berlin on the Hampshire in Berlin program led by him. Hmmm....pretty obviously I liked the guy. Political Justice is by far his strongest course, well developed over 30+ years. Overall, a very interesting dude who likes to talk, but will relent if you have strong points to make

Lester was my advisor and mentor from 1988-1992. I still think of him and his teaching every day. I'm a teacher now, and he's a role model for me (but I have a cleaner office). If you haven't had a class with Lester yet, you are missing the best.

Lester is amazingly engaged and enthusiastic about teaching, encourages open and critical discussion, and is more than willing to help in any way (with most anything) outside of class. One of Hampshire's finest.
