Lori's classes are reading based. She assigns a lot of reading every night, so if you don't like reading, don't take her classes. She is very knowledgeable about her topics and presents good arguments. One flaw is she doesn't understand technology and seems proud of that.

Comment:

The first lecture, she said that, college is the only commodity in which you pay for the privilege of working hard. That set the tone for the course. She can be intimidating, but it is something to be admired. She makes you a better student! I recommend buying the textbooks early and start the readings one week before classes.

Comment:

Class is incredibly difficult, but she's an absolute gem. Incredibly passionate and intelligent to the point that i'm scared of her. She can be condescending, but it's not meant in a spiteful way. The readings and the material are incredibly interesting and she helps give a new perspective on women's rights in history.

This was a course was a fantastic intro to women's studies, and I would definitely recommend taking it with Dr. Ginzberg. Just get ready to read and write. The subject matter is usually pretty interesting, and the class discussions are always engaging. But don't expect an A just for showing up; Lori makes you earn it.

Lori's class is not easy but it is definitely worth it. She was one of the most interesting professors I have had and you can tell she is passionate about women's studies. If you love reading, this is the class for you. I promise the readings are really interesting

Lori's lectures are actually really really interesting and I do enjoy attending them. She assigns TOO much reading so if you are looking for an easy GH, I would steer clear. She only gives a final but there are multiple papers and she is not an easy grader. The first day she said she doesn't give A's, and it's easy to see why.

Class was heavily based on writing,challenging ideas,and even more writing.If your not prepared to research and write critically then don't take this as your first year seminar.Extremely helpful & encouraging. Recommend going to her office hours frequently!May come off strongly opinionated.

Dr. Lori Ginzberg is an incredibly brilliant woman and a demanding teacher. I worked my ass off for the A but it meant more to me than most any other grade I've yet had. She's SO aware and smart it could be intimidating, but you learn to "get" just how charming she is as the course goes along. I hope she never stops teachign this class - amazing!

She requires way too much reading and acts like it's your only class. All of the papers are graded like it is an english class. I learned to write what she wanted to hear and end up with and A- but she is so boring and tells you right off the bat she doesn't give As. Her lectures put me to sleep and were reall unclear

Excellent lectures that made 3 hours seem like 75 minutes. She challenged us and made us think. I would 99% recomend this class. It was a rewarding experience. Dr. Ginzberg is an excellent lecturer with modern day liberal ideals that make the class fun! Do the readings, they are neccessary and interesting!

Such a great lecturer that even a three-hour class seemed to go by very quickly. Extremely intelligent to the point of being intimidating, but makes an attempt to be friendly and approachable. She challenges her students with grading, but structures her class well and really makes you think. Recommended.
