Considering I took this class during the summer online, it was VERY fast-paced. Bishop has so many resources that it is really up to YOU to make sure you are utilizing them. I honestly loved this class, but it is not easy. Use the resources and reach out, Mr. Bishop is always accessible for your questions.

Comment:

I took Mark's class online because of COVID-19. He literally is the most organized teacher ever. He has his own website, he wrote his own textbook (which is free on his website), and his tests are clear. He truly cares about his students' status in his class because he always checks in with email. His class is mostly labs, webassign hw, and tests.

Took the Saturday summer class. Warning: IF YOU HAVE ADHD DO NOT TAKE THIS. He's a nice guy, but so extremely boring. He absolutley loves talking. Not lecturing; talking. He will literally talk for the straight 4 hours. It was pure torture.

Mr. Bishop is a fun, loving Chemistry instructor. Class might be a bit challenge for some people but if you attend every lectures, problem session and lab then it's fairly easy. He likes to threat his students about reading the textbook before going to class but I never do it and still got an A. Chem department won't be the same w/out him next sem

Class is extremely hard. It made me change my major. I wanted to drop but it was too late. If it weren't for bishop giving me extra help on his own time, I never would have past.

Most boring teacher at MPC. Talks FOREVER and goes off track a lot and talks about stuff that is not on the test. Took him FOUR hours to go through only 6 ppt slides, and most was not on the test. Tests are a little tricky, but since he wrote the book all questions are from the book. Most boring class EVER, but easy grade if you do some work.

He is so great. I've never seen someone who could explain concepts the way he does. The class can be a bit challenging but if you always attend class, you'll be fine.

Bishop is an excellent teacher. He has years of experience, and even wrote a workbook to go along with the textbook (use this workbook- it will be very helpful). Take advantage of everything he offers (including SI sessions), and don't skip class just because he doesn't take attendance.

The class was fast paced and rigorous. The first day of class he told us we would be spending 30 hours a week on Chem. Weekly quizzes, 3 exams, and a final. Allowed 1 3x5 card, front and back for each exam. Weekly labs.

Great instructor. He has such an unbelievable wealth of help and information online that makes it easy to study. He is also very willing to help if needed. He is clearly passionate about Chemistry which makes it easier to pay attention. If you show up daily, you should at least be able to pass. I would definitely take another class with him.

Mr. Bishop is a good teacher. He talks a lot, so have your coffee before you get to class. You can tell he knows a ton about science and loves his job. Don't miss class, b/c it is hard to catch up. He will work with you on make ups. I missed a test and he allowed me to make it up the next week. don't wait till the last min to study!!!!!

Bishop is overall an ok instructor. He does put in a lot of time to help students. He does let you know what might be on the test. I did notice that he would make fun of people for leaving class but I dont blame them, his lecture is terribly boring.
