Comment:

Professor Roldan gave me a "C" and I am a fluent speaker, writer and reader of the Spanish language. My family is from Spain. I would not recommend especially if you a re a female student. I felt very uncomfortable and I reported my discomfort to the dean of the department as well as my dissatisfaction in the grade that I received.

Man he's an amazing profesor. I definitely recommend his class. He's a very intellectual guy. He often get out of topic but when he does he gives information that is really helpful for you. If you are a native Spanish speaker you'll love this class because you will learn a lot of Spanish history, literature and grammar. I really like this teacher.

He is a nice guy but he goes off topic all time. he is honestly all over the place in his lectures which makes it very confusing. his class was also very boring.

Nice guy but omg soooo booooring. Also, I took Spanish Conversation with him and he spent more time talking about himself/his philosophy/his opinions than actually getting the class to talk. It was more like a listening practice class than a conversational practice class.

Comment:

Great Professor who is passionate about his career. He does not give out free handouts and makes his students work for their grade. He can go out of subject from time to time. I am a native Spanish speaker and I was able to learn great things from this course. He gives out a lot of homework and there are a total of 4 exams, 1 mid-term and 1 final.

-VERY enthusiastic and wants everyone to do their best -Thick Spanish accent and speaks in Spanish VERY OFTEN -Daily routine is him teaching grammar, students take turn reading aloud answers to practice questions from book. -VERY fun and engaging class. Homework is short and much time given to finish Non-Spanish speaker. Got very high A.

I would have voted up the easiness, but this class was a bore. Spanish 35 is for people with a background in Spanish, so it does focus on more of the grammar aspect. However Professor Roldon was very helpful and tried his best to make such a boring class interesting.

Had professor Roldan for spanish 1 in Spring. I felt he was very clear. i learned a lot. you definitely need to attend if you want to learn. He's serious about teaching and helps the people who are there to learn. Uses the book a lot but clarifies when the book can be a little confusing. would take for span II if he taught it.

Class is pretty easy. Uses book everyday. Gives hw everyday, but goes over it and gives the answers durring class. Hes never absent and takes roll everyday. He's from Spain so his Spanish is alil different and expects you to learn it his way. overall ok teacher.

Excellent instructor. Mr. Roldan explains clearly and he is very helpful to students and considerate of students. He assigns homework and his explanations are clear. I highly recommend him.
