Comment:

I took this class for Winter 2021, and she does not have clear grading criteria, and she always has an attitude if you email her regarding some questions. I am an A student, and I always strive to get my work done. And I actually learned a lot about Latin American women due to this class, but her teaching technique is all over the place.

Comment:

I took this class as a last resort, the worst thing I ever did. If you disagree with her viewpoints, you will fail. She uploads assignments at random, and she posts due dates with missing days (ex. Due December). Do you're GPA a favor and not take her class.

This professor basically makes you take this course to buy her book. Basically inattentive all semester, everything she assigns makes no sense. She doesn't answer emails, if you're late on a discussion the post is completely deleted. Completely unorganized.

Comment:

Took this class online this summer (Late Session). The class was a requirement for my degree, but took it because the title of the class really caught my eye. First, she posted the first course materials and assignment sort of late, and very all over the place, never replied on time, and posted assignments all at once. I do not recommend her at all

I took this class online in the summer. I feel as if she was unclear on what the grading was. She is a slow grader but the assignments were somewhat clear. You have to keep track on dates since there are a lot of due dates and it's easy to miss assignments.

This class was an online course and for my understanding the professor is supposed to be diligent with there emails because that is the only source of communication! She would never answer and she was a slow grader! Basically your grade was a surprise because her grading standards were never clear from day one!

so this professor is good she is just not clear, when i took my first class with her i got -C but it was because she has weird grading criteria like her total grades are discussion boards and assignments that are not hard at all and 50% final if you buy her book you will pass. do not attach your papers! i got c because of this. but A's in all other

First she going to make you read her own book , and you better agree her own believes or you are done. You wont receive any feedback or email from her eventhough if you email her. Her grade method is horrible. I don't take into consideration what other students said about her and now I am paying the consequences. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROFESSOR.

Professor Ricourt was very pleasant. She was informative and get this.. her textbook is by HER! Awesome professor just make sure you do the work and participate you won't have any issues. Would take her class again. Thank you Professor Ricourt. You will learn a lot in this class!

Don't be fooled by the other reviews. Professor Ricourt is EXCELLENT and the textbook we use it written by her. She gives you cost options on how you would like to purchase the book and is very clear on her instructions. If you are going to take her online course you should already know now to navigate blackboard because she uses it and is clear.

Her feedback is deplorable. She takes forever to posts weekly assignments but wants to be strict about deadlines. Her own grammar and proofreading is lackluster but expects perfection. She's doing the bare minimum to get the title of "professor." Colleges need to institute "secret shopper" type accounts to observe these absentee professors.

Took her in an online course and her presence was negligibleweeks would pass without any communication from her, papers were not graded, the site was not actualized. God only knows where she was! Don't complain to her as it will make her your enemy and she'll retaliate. She is really mediocre. Avoid her like the plague!

I'd suggest you do not take this professor, unreliable online, grades last minute, very disrespectful through email (sent me an email in all caps basically telling me I'm wrong), and the final grade is 50% and she is a VERY BIASED grader. If she doesn't like your writing she states it as wrong.

I was disappointed. The courses she was teaching were interesting, but it doesnt make up for her unreliability. My peers and I were confused about the final and she responds THE DAY OF THE FINAL with the answers we needed. Her finals are 50% of your final grade so you can only imagine how mad I was to get an answer that late.

Shes an okay professor but your basically learning on your own, she gets mad if you email her regarding the subject, and if you get a wrong answer she wont even tell you why its wrong or what you can do to improve it. Im not sure how it is to take her class on campus but online shes a mess, grades late takes forever to grade your work.

Women in Latina America was an interesting class. This prof. is not that organized, the reading is not a lot. We did not get a mid-term. Her teaching style needs much improvement. I wasn't please with my final grade. I did well overall, but not sure how she calculates the grades. If u take this class- u will pass.
