Expects you to devote all your time to class. Doesn't care if you're sick, work 40 + hrs per week, ect. Makes easy material hard by giving out ridiculous assignments. Expects too much for a senior level class that is required for degree.

Overall Kashef is a fair teacher. I've had 2 courses with him, and although he can be difficult and a bit abrasive at times, he's a very knowledgeable guy. If you do the work required(which isn't too difficult, just very boring)and attend class then you should do fine. Exams were 70 percent of the grade in my course, but he grades leniently.

Comment:

Great Professor. Very knowledgable and helpful, but you have to ask if you need help. ECU is very lucky to have him. He has real-world experience and that makes him better than many of the Prof's at ECU who have none and live in an academic bubble. He has a thick accent, but if you have half a brain and pay attention, he is very easy to understand.

He thinks way too highly of himself. His requirements for the papers change with the way the wind blows. Although he's not a bad guy, and not a complete jerk, he expects quite a lot. I worked my butt off, and still ended up with a B. He's the only one who teaches Urban Design though. Stay on his good side, and life won't be that bad for you.

The class itself is great, you learn a lot and come out of the class impressed with your unknown talents..but he is sneaky...what made me hate the class so much was that I busted my tail to get an A on the first project, but got an 89, while someone who DID NOT finish a drawing for the project got an A on it! Hippocrit!

I worked my butt off to get an A in Kashef's class and attended every single class and I still got a lousy B. I had a considerable amount of respect and admiration before this class for him, but now I think he's just someone who thinks way too much of himself and is way to unclear. I wish he was as good of professor as he thinks he is.

He's very enthusiastic but can be a little unclear about what he wants. No text to buy but you'll spend some money on materials. Projects (3) are interesting but time consuming. Only take if interested in urban design. Good class. The only people to complain about the class were knuckle dragging construction mgmt majors.
