She knows her stuff, and marks hard as well. But she's also super approachable in office hours, and will help you as much as she can. Make sure you're prepared for class, show up and participate, otherwise it'll be rough. Also, check Moodle regularly and listen in class for what/when she wants homework handed in. I love her sweaters!!

She seems to be a teacher that is more interested in research than the needs of students. Like posters from previous years , I agree she sends awful e-mails and is self absorbed. Her nasty attitude and blah personality ensure that I will never take another one of her courses... And have changed my classes around to be sure of it.

I found her to be a very fair prof, and I had no problem doing well in her class. I didn't find that she marked harder for grammar than any other prof in the department, and for the reading reflections, we had the opportunity to correct our mistakes to raise our marks. The class was interesting, and she was very open to student opinions.

Very tough prof. She's incredibly anal when it comes to arcane little grammar rules but she knows her stuff. The class is not interesting though, if you're planning on minoring or majoring in french it's just going to be a course that you have to deal with. Show up to class, 10X easier if she doesn't hate you!

Tough prof but KNOWS her material well. If you ask a question or contest something she doesn't know, she will take the time to look it up. Don't expect a good mark, an A student can get D's and C's. She may make you feel unintelligent but doesn't mean to and really just wants you to learn. Hard to do well, but you learn a lot. Smart lady, fair.

Mean, she is very mean and has a tendency to choose certain students and pick on them. Marks fair but does not make going to class an enjoyable experience. Not open to questions or other opinions and sends very rude e-mails to her students.
