Comment:

Prof. Lee really does love Chemistry, but she can be short with students sometimes. Feels like she'd be somewhere else at times too. I learned a lot, but I feel like I learned mostly from reading the materials. It's cool that she offers extra credit and let's you drop your lowest scores. Read the book and you'll be fine.

Comment:

Professor Lee is an amazing professor. She is very clear with her expectations. She is a fair grader. She allows you to drop one exam, various homeworks, labs. She also gives out extra credit. I would absolutely recommend her. The only downside is her timed exams. But if you work hard and study, you'll be fine. Take her.

From the very first day of class you know what to expect. She is very clear and straightforward. Some key things to keep in mind remember to look over lecture notes often. Everything on the test is usually compiled from the lecture notes. She may come off a little abrasive, but she really does care about you. A teacher who wants to teach!

Yes, she gives homework. What professor doesn't? This class is very difficult, but, if you are determined, she will help you get through the class. She changes due dates and test dates frequently to help the class, so pay attention. Overall, she is good; be ready to work.

She truly helps you understand chemistry! I learned a great deal in her class. Take her!! Her expectations are clear. You can drop the two lowest homework and lab reports, and one exam. Do your homework, study, write thorough reports & you can do well in her class. She offers extra credit as well. I would take her again!

Professor Lee is by far one of the best teachers I have taken at MiraCosta, not only does she make concept easy to comprehend but provides tools to enhance that knowledge, also she provides extra credit (do it). The first few days I though negatively about her, but over time realized I was completely wrong. Do yourself a favor and take her!!!!!!!!!

Ms. Lee is a great professor as far as lecturing and helping students. But there were times when she said things in the classroom which were unprofessional for a teacher when it came to student's attendance. She can be a little impatient at times but it's because she wants students to read lecture notes before they come to class.

I would avoid taking Professor Lee for any Chem class. She waist more time on off topic and completely irrelevant material then any other teacher iv had,thus putting the class behind. This causes her to rush through material and breeze over complex topics in hast to get caught up. she is often in a poor mood and not very approachable for questions.

Comment:

Nancy is wonderful and has a passion for chemistry. She is always available to help you.Chemistry is a tough subject and if you don't study you are going to struggle regardless of the teacher. Nancy is upfront with her expectations and as long as you listen to her you will do great. I will definitely keep her in mind for future chemistry classes.

As a teacher, she is ok. Good at explaining things, but very easily frustrated. She has a tendency to snap at you if you frustrate her. Not at all clear about when things are due, when tests are, and especially unclear about what will be covered on tests. Not a good class to take if you need structure and clear instructions.

Let's be real, chem is hard. You're going to have to work. This is college. Dr.Lee is upfront about what she expects. You get to drop 1 test, 2 hw, 2 labs... Yes, in class she can be scatter-brained sometimes, but she definitely isn't over the top ridiculous like some comments claim. Class is straightforward. Do the work and you'll be fine.

Teacher is hard to follow in lecture. Gets frustrated easily when we don't understand concepts quickly. Says that we are "expected to learn on our own time, and not in class". Tests are too hard because information is jammed down our throats quicker than we can learn it.

This class was easy to begin with and progressively got harder as the semester went on. Ms.Lee progressively got more frustrated with us as the topics got harder and subsequently needed more explanation. she is extremely strict about attendance. If you miss a day, make sure you get the notes from someone, otherwise you'll be behind.

Ms. Lee is very nice and is always willing to help. Although seems like she looses patience when you ask her a question for clarification. Attendance is mandatory in this class if you want to pass with a good grade. Make sure to take good notes because that is what the tests are based on.

Works hard to make sure everyone knows what is expected. Hardest part of this class is that people around you take her for granted, causing her to frequently stop everyone to explain particulars over again. Can be scattered but very fair and clear. Read her syllabus and write down what she says and writes. And study. Just follow directions!

Comment:

Highly recommend this teacher. Syllabus clearly states what is expected as far as due dates, etc. She spends a better part of lecture going over and over computations necessary to pass the upcoming quizzes, so failing a quiz is completely a result of your failure atpaying attention in lecture. Homeworks and lab reports and graded for completeness.

Very straight forward professor. Breaks everything down for you and doesn't expect you to know anything outside of her lectures. Willing to help you if you cant grasp a concept but only if you will work for it. Tests are timed but other than that excellent professor.

Comment:

She is an amazing professor! She is helpful and really does want you to succeed. Listen to her advice on how to study for her tests, seriously. It took me half the semester to finally get it together and apply her study tips. It made a HUGE difference. Her tests are primarily focused on calculations and she is thorough with her lab notebook checks.

Comment:

I left the last comment and thought I should leave a follow up. After this teacher read my complaint, it was fixed and she went out of her way to make sure assignments were clearly defined. She is a great teacher in that this issue was heard and quickly addressed, and even mentioned it on blackboard. I credit this website for helping with that. :-)
