Comment:
Dr. Rolnick is an excellent theology professor. Faithful to magisterium and gives very constructive feedback on essays. He grades essays very fastidiously but it is easy to get a good grade on them if you make corrections. I was in the honors section and we had very little work outside of class (but this often is not the case for on-level).

Dr. Rolnick is a really great person, and overall a pretty good professor. Getting an A in his class is virtually impossible, but passing shouldn't be an issue if you go to class (always, he will call you out) and do the very short and extremely easy homework assignments. Also, make sure you know your lecture notes because exams are all note recall

This class was amazing!!! Professor Rolnick really cares about all of his students, and was determined to make sure we succeeded. His primary goal is not to make gauge learning with exams and paper, he just wants to share his knowledge about Christian Marriage. Quizzes almost every class (they were easy) and two papers. 10/10 would recommend.

Comment:
Dr. Rolnick cares a lot about his students and recognizes each student's potential. Consequently, he gives students a fair amount of homework and there are a lot of writing assignments and he's not an easy grader. However, class was always interesting and he is very passionate about theology and his areas of study.

He really cares about what he is teaching and enjoys students care too. At first, I thought he was a bit incoherent, but after the first lecture everything was to the point and really made you think. I would totally recommend him if you care about the Catholic faith and want to see the world from that point of view.

If you want an objective approach to Theology, you may not like his style. He is learned and willing to debate, but his arguments are poor and his stances entrenched. As they say, smart people are better at rationalizing. He loves CS Lewis. Everything is about how great Lewis is. We didn't read a single critical piece the entire class.

You won't want to miss his lectures. I graduated last year and this class was one of the best I took in my time as St. Thomas. He truly cares about your development both as a student and as a person. However, don't expect a walk in the park.

I took his class on C.S. Lewis. Incredibly knowledgeable about the man and Catholic Canon BUT he is a near impossible grader. Spent over 80 hours writing a two page paper while working closely with a Theology tutor and still only got a C. His prompts for both papers and finals are very vague and HARSHLY GRADED Good luck if you aren't a pro editor.

I was not looking forward to taking theology, but he made it a very interesting class. His tests are hard, so if you want an easy A do not take him.

I had Rolnick first semester of my freshmen year, and I plan on taking as many classes with him as possible while in school at UST. He is not only my favorite prof ever, he's one of my favorite people. Incredibly knowledgable, kind, enthusiastic, and caring. Rolnick pushes you to be better than you think you are. A truly incredible prof and person.

Pay attention in class & take good notes. Kinda hard to follow during lectures. Goes off on tangents sometimes but great professor. He'll answer any question you have & loves Theology. Not a good idea to fall asleep; he calls on people to read or answer a question to make sure you're paying attention.

Dr. Rolnick is one of the best profs I've had at UST. He's so enthusiastic about Theology and knows the answer to any question you could have about the subject. He really cares for all of his students and takes time to get to know all of them. Few paper, pretty easy. Make sure you study for mid-term exam and the final exam. HIGHLY RECCOMEND!!

Professor Rolnick is a really nice prof! He makes the Theo 101 material a lot more engaging than I expected it to be. Rolnick is also very helpful if you don't understand a concept. He is very analytical when it comes to essays, which really helps you to become a better writer in addition to learning Theology.

Rolnick was awesome. He has a hilariously dry humor, but most of all he has a passion for what he's teaching. I took a C.S. Lewis class, and he made a Theology class one of my favorite classes ever. He's more than happy to meet outside of class, and he also is very helpful in bettering your writing. Take him, you'll learn a lot!
