I rented a textbook but never used it. He made history interesting and as long as you study you should be able to connect things on the exams. Overall he is a great professor.

Dr. Van Hall has the most interesting way of presenting the material. It's like everything he is teaching is a story that you want to hear more about. You HAVE to take notes in all of his classes or you won't pass, and he has a book review for each of his classes, but if you show up, take notes and study them, you will definitely pass.

hints to what is on exam. No homework. One book report (non fiction) MLA format. TAKE lots of NOTES and record him if you need clarity (I did both and it helped a lot) He loves his work And often gets excited. His study guides are in the assessment center and you can copy them. Listen and you will pass. Ask a question he will answer.

He's a really lovable guy. No one could not like him. You have to go to class though and you pretty much have to write everything he says down. It can be stressful. but overall pretty good class. oh and you don't have to buy an expensive textbook

love him, easy to get along with.but he is hard to follow luckly you can go the whole class without paying a lick of attention because he gives you a very detailed study gudie before each test. Know the terms he gives you and youll pass everytime. prewrite your essays!!

This guy is the best professor at USCL. I love this guy! I take anything I can with him. He gives you the facts plus the gossip of the time period! Write down every word he says, even if you think it is just a silly anecdote. Notes are what you need in her. The textbook is not important. He has all the info you need, so just listen up.

Van Hall is the greatest professor I've had since i began my college career. He is interesting, and there is never a dull class. You can tell he truly loves the material, and he always tries to have fun in class. Take plenty of notes, be prepared for the tests. Very fair though, and easy to talk to.

Dr. V likes to scare the crap out of you by pounding on his podium at random moments. Irritating, but he keeps your attention. Funny little man and a good teacher. Don't take this class if you are faint of heart!
