Though this class is online, you have to be present. This class was synchronous and you need to have your camera on a majority of the class time. Though if you are present during the lectures and take notes it will be an easy A. This class is lecture heavy, but if you are interested in the arts, this class should be delightful.

I found the material to be intriguing. However, Professor Miller is very specific in her grading. Make sure to be present in-class discussion, take notes beforehand and during. She does offer many extra credit opportunities. Try your best to participate in the discussions. Provide your input. She does drop the lowest test score at the end.

Lots of work and boring lectures. Pretty easy to pass, just need to pay attention and do the readings. Group Project at the end of the semester, one 3-4 page paper, and 3 exams. But she drops the lowest score if you take all three and replaces it with your highest. Overall, she expects you to participate and work hard.

I really didn't enjoy this class much. Interesting because you mostly get to watch movies, but her online lectures were a drag. We went online half way thru semester due to COVID. "Think pieces" every week which seem pointless, boring lectures, GROUP project at the end of the semester (even tho we are online ?? like why bro) and yeah. It was mid.

Read novellas or short stories and watched the film adaptations. Some similar & diff to the source material. Wide variety of eras and genres in film and fiction so it was pretty cool. Lots of lectures that made the movies take awhile to finish but no complaints otherwise. But do the reading otherwise I dont think you could fake it in her class.

Can be an easy A class, as long as you show up to class, complete two writing assignments, three exams, and one group project. Daily reading assignments are discussed in the next class. She's very helpful when you visit during her office hours. Keep in mind, she is strict on attendance and she may cut points off grade for coming to class late!

Professor Miller was a great teacher. She really cares about you getting a good grade. She is very redundant in telling you what assignments are due, but its not the biggest deal. She does have her entire class discussion based on the reading, so make sure to actually read the text. If you do all your homework, she will give you a fair grade.

Do not take her 8am class if you can't be there 5 minutes early. She has "think pieces" due every beginning of class worth points just as an incentive to be on time. Must pay attention during lecture to make your own notes, must buy book to be able to participate in class. Unorganized at times so grading is confusing. Favoritism with teachers pets.

Easy points for a daily summary of what you learned in class (gives a LOT of cushion for grade), 3 tests including final, final is NOT cumulative, very little homework, one group presentation at the end. Go to class, listen and take good notes - you WILL get a good grade. Easy A if you put in the effort.

I honestly have mixed feelings about prof miller. Shes kinda quirky ngl but I do feel like i learned a decent amount from her class. She requires quite a bit of reading but also goes over everything in class which is helpful. Grading criteria is super clear from the beginning and she also drops your lowest test grade and replaces it with highest.

Professor Miller is very passionate about what she does and it is really respectable. Absences do heavily count towards your grades due to taking role and turning in a think piece each class worth 6 points. As long as you complete all of your work thoroughly the class should be steady sailing. Ask questions!

If lecture doesnt work for you, dont take this class. Though if it is, take this class. The tests are ridiculously easy if you show up to class and actively participate. She is flexible for meeting up with her outside of class if you need any help with studying or projects. I enjoyed this class and it gave me a new perspective on art.

Harsh grader, the lectures are awkward if nobody is engaging because the material is boring. She assigns hw but never collects it, just take detailed notes in class and you'll be good on the tests. The only grades are 3 tests, a few essays, and a final group presentation. She's strict with phones and marks you absent if you come late or leave early

Miller made this class so interesting by having inspirational and intellectual lectures that were very engaging. Gives clear feedback on assignments and interacts with the students so the class doesnt seem dry. Tests can be challenging if you dont show up for lectures since its mainly based on what is talked about in class.

This class is easy, just show up, do some form of the reading, and raise your hand. The professor often will spend 10-20 minutes attempting to lead the class to the desired conclusion. This is the most a class has ever felt like high school since high school. Discussions are a bore if other people don't participate.

attendance is mandatory, if you leave class early she marks you absent, even if its in the last 10 min of class. strict about phones in class, docs you points if in sight. lectures are painfully boring. only plus side is the tests are easy if you take notes in class and pay attention. show up to class, pay attention, take detailed notes and ur fine

Prof. Miller is very generous and helpful towards her students. Attendance is crucial for a good grade in her class and she makes you turn in "think pieces" every class for points. Offers extra credit and her office hours are extremely beneficial. She is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches which made her lectures engaging.

A very nice woman, but that doesn't mean she is a very good teacher. Miller takes 30 minutes to explain something that could take 5 minutes. She has daily assignments known as "think pieces" which are very pointless. She also gives out too many reading assignments that reach up to 10-15 pages long. Grade is mostly based off tests and think pieces.

Comment:
Prof. Miller is very knowledgeable and passionate about what she teaches, but don't expect an easy A. She is very anal when it comes to class attendance and the grading of assignments and tests, so be prepared to put in the work for everything. Going to class and taking notes is imperative if you want an A, as this is what she bases her tests on.
