Comment:
Do not take Dr. Tefft. She is completely unreasonable and gives so much work for absolutely no reason. Easily the hardest teacher for ENG101. She is a super difficult grader and if you dont do things exactly the way she wants she immediately gives you a B. Do not take her. This class is the worst.

Did not enjoy this class at all. SO much unnecessary homework for a freshman writing class. Grading criteria and assignment instructions were unclear and I needed to clarify what she wanted every time.

She gives toooo much work compared to other English 101 classes. She is a very tough grader too. She teaches decently but the amount of work seemed like that of a 5 credit class not 3. Don't take her.

This class is definitely doable. I took it for my writing requirement and ended up loving the professor and the course. You learn a lot, meaning you write a lot -but don't be scared. The writings that you do are straightforward, somewhat formulaic in a sense, so honestly just put your time to do the work. You'll get exactly what you put in.

This class is definitley helpful to hone some writing skills, but overall way too much work. Do not take it if you're geniunely interested in journalism. A lot of busy work that isn't discussed very much in class and weekly quizzes to make sure you're staying up to date with the news. Challenging to get a good grade unless you meet with her.

She's great! B/c Emory doesn't have a journalism dept, her class is very helpful for those looking for internships/connections/advice. Her class is fun but requires a lot of work with diff media but all useful skills. We went on a field trip and worked with equipment in class with various guest lecturers. Quizzes over current news every week.

She is a great resource and can connect you with jobs, internships, etc. if you ask. Super interesting course and not that difficult, but some of the course content seemed a bit unnecessary.

For a Journalism SEMINAR this class is too much work and it is too critically graded. Seminars are offered for students to possibly gain interest in something they didn't consider initially, I no longer consider Journalism. She grades how she likes it and not how its actually written. Mandatory volunteering is included and not mentioned initially.

Most didnt drop because it was a writing requirement, but the main problem with her is that her voice is really really annoying.
