Comment:

Unlike others opinions here, he made me want to continue in the education program. He is inspiring, has a great sense of humor and calls things by it name and some people don't like that. I definetely would take him again. Attend to class and the field work days assigned, work on the two statements due at the end of the semester and you will get an A.

I cannot believe his rating is low. He is an awesome instructor. He calls things by their name and some people don't like that. The style of his class is a relaxed conversation on matters related to education. You will learn many things from his conversations, and his experience. He has a great sense of humor. Attend to class, and the field work days, work on your philosophy and contextual statements and you will get an A. He inspired me to become a great teacher.

I remember Prof. Welch fom 1977 to 1980, having him as a teacher and advisor during my participation with a group called S.C.A.T.E. WE found him very helpful and compassionate.insightful, Shame on the ignorance of some of above students, who should have had some cheese with their "whine".

Don't take him. He makes you not want to be a teacher simply because he is a terrible teacher (and he admitted he's a bad teacher!!!). Every class he would talk about nothing and tell us the class is a joke and that our philosophy if education statement is a joke. Worst professor ever. You will not be able to deal with him. Just stay very far away from his class

If you want an easy A, take this professor.Although he is extremely nice and willing to help,you dont learn much.He doesnt teach u anything relevent in class and doesnt see if you do your field work.Most of the time,the school didnt know we were coming.The hardest part is going to class when you know its pointless.

He def didn't teach us anything. We would come to class sit down and he will tell us the worst scenario setting that we will encounter. He adds work that doen't go with the class. Basically you get a B if you go to all the setting and A if he likes you enough.

This is the worst professor at Kean University, he speaks about everything other than what he should be talking about. This coarse is a huge waste of time and money. He will not give an A no matter what you do.
