Comment:

Dr. Stall is overall a very good professor. If you are interested in learning about Sociology, then take this class. A negative is that she gives out A LOT of work. Lots of reading to do with this class. Her class was not boring but you have to do the reading to be interested. Discussion based, gets class involved. Very sloppy on board.

Comment:

Stall has some crazy power issues. She is cranky and overtly displayes this crankiness in class. I'd like to use another term but cant. Class is a waste of time, and shes horrible advisor. Weekly journals, weekly useless readings from articles and books. Cant relate to students at all. Overall one of the most annoying teachers Ive ever had.

She's a good teacher, very passionate. Gives too much busy work, something was always do and too many readings, make sure you read!!! She will always help you out though. A little too passionate about the subject sometimes!

I am not too happy with this professor. She seemed friendly but did not enjoy her class. She is a good advisor but doesn't seem to relate to her students very well. She seemed to act that her opinion is always right...

She expects you to read novels, articles, newspaper clippings, and online articles. On top of that, she wants weekly journals and a lot of class discussion. All that I can say is if you want to get a descent grade in her class, you MUST kiss her ass. I mean, she is the head of the Sociology department. Her personality-can you say "functionalist"

I agree with the last comment. She assigns too much. A novel every week and a half along with other articles and short stories, then you must write a paper on them...It's ridiculous...She may be a nice teacher, but it seems she takes no consideration in the fact that people have more than one class.

first of all this class is listed as women in social action but it's really detective fiction. she assigns entirely too much BUSy work. for this semester she has entirely too many speakers not enough of her actually teaching. i would not recommend her for any class and neither would a few other sociology professors that i have talked to.

very interesting. I learned a lot. She's very understanding if you miss a class for a valid reason (even if there's a test that day). just keep up on assignments and you'll do fine!

Alot of busy work. It is not a difficult class, but it seemed like there was always something due. Very animated during lectures. 3 exams (aloud cheat sheet). Reading: short stories that are on the exams and a bunch of group discussions about the short stories. Decent teacher, nice, I wouldn't mind taking her again.

Dr. Stall is awesome. She is laid back and easy to talk to. She is professional without being stuffy. You'd like her a lot. Take her Youth and Youth Culture class. You are going to learn a lot.
