Comment:
I took professor Staggs for microbiology. It was during Covid, so it was a virtual class, but not an online class. She does not lecture at all. She gives lecture notes that are pretty useless for the homework and tests. She is no help, and you will be learning from a text book. NO test reviews. The lab prof is okay, but she is no help with lecture.

I took this course as a hybrid class. First of all Mrs. Staggs expects you to know everything covered in each chapter... you dont know what will exactly will be on the exams. Shes very demeaning and doesnt seem to care about her students. Second of all the professor in lab is no help at all. Just walks around pretending to do her job.

AVOID THIS CLASS IF POSSIBLE. My experience was horrible. There were approximate 25-30 students in this class. Out of those students 1 got A ( hopefully ), 1 got B and 2 of them got C. Rest of them got an F or dropped the class. She is straight rude and because its an online class, she barely helps her students. Exams difficult + NO study Guide.

Things she says "you need to know this for the exam" aren't on the exam, but things she never covered are. Almost all of the multiple choice questions covered topics she never covered have five answer choices. She just seems to be going through the motions and giving us premade questions from a bank of hundreds of questions. Not a good professor

Elevated thinking required. You will learn lots of material. One of the most challenging classes ever. Not for the weak of heart! If you think this will be a freebie- think again! Rewarding to earn a good grade.

Pretty much, take the practice exams and study those areas. She says read the book and study the scorms but I could spend 50 hours on all that and still not pass the tests. Every other class is cake compared to this one. I had to take this class twice and only this one in the fall semester because I literally couldnt handle more than this.

I would not take this course again. She is not very organized, and she gives no study guide for the final exam, the practice tests for lectures don't match the tests. Get ready to read all the SCORMS but also all the chapter of the books. NOT A FUN CLASS.

I would not recommend this hybrid course. Dr. Staggs requires you to know a large amount of information for her exams and they are weighted heavily. It is totally possible to pass this course. If you choose this course, be ready to put all other courses aside because this course requires many nights a week studying to understand the info.

Hardest Ever!! I took hybrid class with lecture online and there was way too much info everywhere and you never knew what was going to be on the test! I had to drop this class in the end. If you are needing this class for nursing DONT TAKE THIS TEACHER!!

material is not clear as you would think as played out on day 1. given false information on where we can find what we need to complete the assignments. if you use anything other than what she provides you will get hit with plagiarism. expect assignments on days of tests. expect the instructor in lab to not be able to help you with anything.

I took this as an online lecture for Microbiology and it was extremely difficult. Her content was hard to understand and not explained very well. There was SO much content and she never gave you specific things to study on so tests are difficult. The practice tests were nothing like the real test, so that won't help. Went from 24 students to 10.

Took her hybrid course and you do not need to read the book. Her tests are based on her lecture notes and are very detailed. Many people dropped and many others were borderline hoping for the best. Her case studies are timed and you have less than a minute for a whole paragraph as one question. The lab was terrible. Failing averages for each exam.

I took her in a hybrid course twice. She doesn't really seem to care too much about the students and has an ego on her. She gives no guidance in the test. She has these standards that no one meets. If you can take a different professor, please do. Most students end up failing her class or dropping. Spare yourself the struggle and pick someone else.

By far the worst professor I've ever taken. I'm trying to get into graduate school and needed this course as a pre-req, and I have a slim chance of making anything other than a C. I studied my butt off for every exam quiz etc and still she finds a way to make it impossible to do good on tests. Averages were 40-50 every exam

I took her hybrid class, and while it was a lot of work it's totally possible to get an A! All you have to do is make sure you study the provided material, watch the video lectures, and take notes. What you need to know for tests is very clear if you study! It may seem like a lot of work, but this is stuff you need to learn for a nursing major!

Tells you to read the book, but the chapters are ridiculously long and it's difficult to know which concepts to really understand. If you have family/job commitments and not much time, do not read the book! Study the SCORMs and take the practice exam, then go through the practice exam and learn the concepts behind the questions missed. Then retake.

I took her blended course and got an A. It is possible!! She's tough but always clear. Study the SCORMS (she highlights exactly what you need to know), be in class every day, and READ THE BOOK!! Most of the students in my class who didn't pass neglected to do the assigned reading. She gives helpful practice exams and extra credit. Fun course!

This class is very hard. If you do not study like crazy and actually learn the information you will not do well. read the chapters for general information and write notes from her scorms take all practice tests twice! questions of her tests are very tricky, you must comprehend what they are asking exactly.. I like this class you may not.

DO NOT TAKE THE BLENDED COURSE. I really wish I would have done my research before I decided to take this course. I really needed to pass this class with an A or B for pre nursing but that is not happening. There is alot of information to cover so give yourself a chance in getting an A or B and take the course with onsite lab and LECTURE.
