Fantastic professor! Although there is a lot of material and work, Professor Hodge makes it manageable, interesting, and enjoyable. His expressive lectures made waking up for an 8:30 bearable. Also, the Russian department is super involved and has lots of events and opportunities for support outside of class!

He is a very passionate professor, with a very memorable teaching style. He is also very helpful and willing to work with individual students. Although I struggled a lot with Russian, as it is a difficult language, I don't have complaints about his teaching.

Comment:

Easily one of the top Professors at Wellesley. His lectures are legendary. Hodge himself is ridiculously smart, hilarious and there for you. One of my favorite parts of the week was going to his office hours every Wednesday and hanging out with the others at the Russian Department and eating food. Russian became my life after taking this class!

Hodge is amazing. He is one of the most passionate, caring people I have ever met. I never had any interest in Russian before I met him; now, I am planning to take as many Russian classes as I can. I respect anyone who is very passionate about what he/she does, and Hodge is the ideal example. I love his class every day.
