Low talker, not clear with directions, and impatient. Easy class, but I wouldn't recommend. Fair grading, lots of writing, all in all an easy A if you are a skilled writer, but lots of complaints from those who need one on one time.

Dr. Shabatay simply sucks. If you are looking for a good professor, just stay away from her. I hate to go to every weak because of her.If you have to have her(hopefully because you have no other choice), then I wish you the best.

Prof. Shabatay's class wasn't bad. For an english class I expected to read a lot more. I would say I read maybe one 15 page story a week outside of class. You must attend class though because the shedule and assignments change a lot.

Great English Teacher! She is a fair grader. In class writing, 3 essays, In class Midterm, Research paper and final. She assigns either 20 or less pages. Books are interesting to read and discuss as well as articles she hands out. She can be reached by e-mail and is EXREMELY helpful.

Very helpful! I have always struggled with english and writing. but she made is very approachable. This was the first english class that I ever got an A. expect to read the book and attend class to see the movies. Expect to write, and you will have a research paper and a few essays.

Sweet person, but difficult to understand and quite opinionated. However, if you do the work, keep your head down, just generally do what she wants and ask ALOT of questions about the assignments, you are safe. She leaves very little room for creativity her student's writing. She requires two texts, but does not use Wadsworth's handbook so much.

Mrs. Shabatay is an excellent teacher. A lot of work, but she tells you exactly what she wants. Keep up on your reading, turn your work in on time and you will do well in her class. I recommend her!

Excellent professor! I absolutely hate english, but by far she is a great professor, would recommend her to anyone. Lots of reading and lots of writing, very clear in what she expects. TAKE HER!!!!!

Dr. Shabatay is by far the best teacher I've ever had in my life. She isn't easy, requires a lot of reading and writing, but she will go beyond her way to help you understand the material. She teaches with a passion! And her class is for the most part relaxing, she understands you have a life as well aside from school and is always there when you need her! I highly recommend her.

Never had such an amazing, passionate, and helpful teacher. Dr. Shabatay is by far one of a kind teacher who has the knowledge, and ability to teach with a passion. This class does require a lot of reading and writing but overall Mrs. Shabatay will go beyond to help you and make you understand the material. She is sweet, fun and cute!!! I highly recommend her:)

Best English Teacher! Made my 4 hour Friday class enjoyable. You need to keep up with the readings, grades essays pretty reasonable. Overall if you put in the effort you'll get a good grade. For me it was an easy A.

I had Dr. S for 100 and 203. She is a great teacher that requires a lot from her students but she is always willing to give her time to help her students succeed. I learned how to write well and do proper research in her class which is essential for upper division classes. She does a great job in trying to make english class current and relatable

It is true that Dr S is quiet so sit up front if you want to hear. The class is very organized and she is clear on what she expects.Gives time to complete work and she gives time for personal help all the time! I found her class interesting and she likes to have class input which will help you with your writing.This class is 4 units so expect work.

a lot of people seem to like this instructor. its true she is a nice woman and very helpful but i have other problems with her.1, speeks very softly, can't hear her.2, clossed minded, won't even listen to the other side.3, i learned almost nothing from the class, i hated going, and i still passed. pointless unless all you care about is credits.

she is a very sweet teacher who gives you breaks and lets you out early. she is a very fair and generous grader. some classes may seem dull but try to stay through the entire class cause you pick up ideas which help you with the essays which are the key part of your grade

She is AWESOME! At first i thought she didnt like me but i think it is just her personality. She is soft spoken. There are a couple of papers to write, but she gives you two chances if you dont like your grade you have a week to fix your paper. She is really helpful and intresting...take time to talk to her.
