The worst Professor Ive had so far! The material was not clearly stated with any assignment. He bashed every single writing assignment with rude and uncomfortable comments. Im not going to be receiving high honor because of this course. Never again.

This guy changed my life in one semester. Had to write a 6 page research paper choosing one of about 20 books (some modern like Clancy and Child). Midterm and Final were on in-class topics(poetry). Take his class and enjoy the ride but take notes!

He tells you exactly what is on his midterms and finals. Read what you need to, and you will do fine on the exams. 1 research paper, fairly easy. Overall, he is funny but will tell you how it is. Talk loudly.

Worst professor .Very unclear with material and expectations . Made a lot of uncomfortable comments. Swore often. unprofessional. Everything he said would be on the final wasn't . Got a 100 on midterms and all papers passed in and ended up with a C for a final grade. He is going to be the reason I don't get into nursing. I put the work in.

He was one of my favorite professors at BCC. Great at lecture. Appropriate material, with something for everyone. Some people comment on him mentioning Vietnam, but that's a piece of American history worth knowing. He kept it brief too. If you can't pass this man's class it's sheer laziness. If they can make it fun, it's worth it.

He loves his war stories and cracks himself up, which cracks his class up, but he's a very fun teacher and his class is one that I enjoyed going to. He was very clear about what would be on the midterm and the final and only required one long paper on a book of your choice ( out of about 10 he provides) I would take a class from him again.

Mr. Gifford is a very realistic teacher and loves to tell Vietnam War stories. He gives you all the necessary resources you need on the midterm and final. He is very clear cut when it comes to MLA Workshop and what is to be expected on your term paper. He is always available when you need help and tries to make the class laugh at least once.

Extremely unclear on assignment requirements. Unfair and poor grading techniques. I recieved all A on my tests but a C on a paper which was completely unjustified, I didn't miss a single class and I ended up with a C for a final grade. Apparently all the test weren't part of the final grading process. This class prevented me from getting high honor

So far so ..... eh. Likes to ramble and has a weird delusion that by telling us we can never misspell a word again means we'll never do it. He was in the Marine Corps so he's loud and sometimes gives jump scares for fun. Loves talking about the history of Massachusetts. So far so I have no good opinion of him. Let's see how it goes.

One of the best professors I've ever had. Some people view him as harsh or crude but he's just realistic. He tells you what to expect in his class ahead of time. He is willing to work with you to better understand the material. He incorporates history, sociology, and experience into his lessons which makes them so much more interesting. The best!

He's the best teacher I've had so far at B.C.C. If you don't like the guy - what is wrong with you? He tells you exactly what to expect on his tests. He makes learning fun. He's an amazing story teller. You learn a lot and it's easy. This man is an example of what teaching should be. Wish more people were like him. He's a walking piece of history.

I thought he was a good professor, although I don't feel I learned a whole lot from his class. If you're unfamiliar with citation styles and basic college English, though, it may be more useful to you. He also tended to be a little mouthy and say some things out of line at times, but overall I thought he was a decent guy.
