Comment:

Took Microbiology this summer with him and I can't say I agree with the other ratings. He was very informative and clear with the grading criteria. He was constantly sending us emails to remind us of our work that was due. I was nervous to take this class online but he made this as easy as he possibly could have for his students.

He is a nice man but he's not doing you any favors.. at all. I feel he's almost the type that gets off not helping people even when he knows they're trying their hardest. If you ask him to narrow down the 100 + terms that are on the practical he will tell you he's a doctor and in medical school they had to know everything... good luck

He simply reads the material word for word from the powerpoints. He doesnt help explain anything, and we have quizzes and tests every week.

If youre an A student, think again. A+ isnt even in his vocabulary. His PowerPoints are word for word from the book. If you ask him what will be on the test he will only tell you every thing i mentioned in class. If youre able to learn with no direction then maybe youll do good. He is a kind man though.

Such a caring man, will help you with anything. Super understanding and down to earth. The outlines he posts online will be your best friend in this course. Gives take home exams (sometimes). Lab quizzes are difficult but if you study you'll be fine.

Dr. V is a great guy and means well. However, his teaching method can get frustrating. I'm half way through the course, & I'm struggling to adapt to his ways. I've earned A+ in all of my BIO classes and his class has got me stumped. Exams are all MC & T/F and he doesn't let you keep the exams or labs just answer keys.

Very organized teacher, knows what he wants, does not throw curveballs, overall, he's a good professor. His exams, however, are extremely difficult if you do not study, this class is definitely a preparation for nursing, do not fall behind on your readings! Make sure you pay attention and take notes, the exam information comes off the powerpoints.

He is an excellent professor. His testing is extremely difficult but it is worth the time and effort you put in. If you are an A student expect a B or even a C. He is willing to help with whatever you need. I would definitely take him again.

Expect more difficulty than you would for your typical science course. I am an A student, and I found this class to be more difficult than anything I have ever experienced. The depth at which the material is taught, is beyond what is necessary for those in the Nursing program.

The most knowledgeable professor I've ever had in college. You cannot miss one class & you need to commit your life to studying during the entire class. Tests are pretty difficult and most material on the tests are from the textbook more so than the power points he goes over in class. Try to study in a group outside of class, that helped me.

this guy is AWFUL. i get this is a hard class and that it's material you need to know however, he takes it to a new level. unless you have no job and are taking this ONE class, don't take him. i study the power points, make note cards, and read and will be lucky if i pass this class its insane. the exams are timed (60 mins) and no q's allowed- wth!

Really tough Professor, everyone in class ended one full grade below their average, if you're an A student... brace yourself for a B. You're responsible to know everything in text & lab books, as well as his lectures. Good luck with this Prof, after him... nursing will be a breeze!

Good teacher and he knows his material very well, but he does give out more information then you actually need. You need to study very hard in this class. Also, for lab quizzes if you don't spell the word correctly you may get it wrong. There is no homework or quizzes in lecture; only 3 exams & a final. Just make sure you know your stuff.

Great teacher!Really knowledgeable,answers any question that you have.he has a great personality and can laugh along with the goof balls.His tests aren't bad if you do the studying. I am a nursing student, & I understand that I need to know the basics of Micro, but not to the extreme that he teaches. He is very detail oriented. He does give the class quite a bit to study. That's great if I wanted to be a microbiologist...but I don't. If you have a life don't take him!
