Dr. Weida was my mentor for years. She is by far and away the best professor in the UMass Lowell psych department.

She's a good professor, connects with students well and makes lectures the least boring as possible. Four tests (3 + final), she drops the lowest test grade. Easy to pass if you go to class and takes notes, all the information in her lectures is on the test, don't bother getting the book even though she says to.

Comment:

Alexandria Weida was an awesome professor - no homework (besides the psych experiments required for credit) but lectures the entire class. Make sure to take good notes. I rented the textbook online and used it to make study guides, but essentially nothing on the exams came from the book. She takes attendance everyday. Overall great professor!

She does not have powerpoint or anything online so you have to write down everything she says at lectures. She does not narrow down anything for exams and is not quick to respond with emails. Her tests are easy if you attend class but hard to study for even by notes because she does not use the book specifically.

Awesome psych prof. Easy lectures and it's very interesting. Make sure you take GOOD notes because she doesn't use slides in her lectures. You can read the textbook if you want, but the most important things will be said during lecture.

I don't understand the bad comment on this prof's page,I was in CHILD001 and it seemed like alot of people in the class didn't want to do any work and now are leaving bad ratings! It's unfair to leave bad ratings b/c a prof. made you work. Prof. Weida teaches students what they need to know. If you want a free ride, maybe college isn't for you.

She was nice but was not clear. It was an 8am class and it was 3 hours long. She gave you breaks. The problem is that she stands at the front and talks. The questions on the test are tricky because they dont make sense. Also, she tells you at the end that you dont need to show up to take the final and shell drop the lowest grade but she doesnt.

Professor Weida is a great teacher and makes her topics interesting. She likes to engage the students and make the subjects pertinent to their lives. She's a fair grader and a great teacher. Take her Child and Adolescent Development class if you can.
