Your final grade is based off on 4 tests scores only. In my section, he added at least 10 points to each test grade. He really enjoyed handing out extra points.

Only graded by four tests through the year which almost the entire class will fail. Class average for my class was around a 65% through each of the four tests. He will go over questions that over half the class miss and make it seem like it was easy and the students are just not trying.

Kutan is a nice and funny guy. However, he is not a good professor. He regularly shows up late to class. Lectures dont prepare you for the exam at all. If you want to do well, you have to put a lot of work in to teach yourself the class. Read the book. Do the online homework, and you should be fine. He does give lots of extra credit though.

Heavy accent, hard material, but is lighthearted and nice. 4 exams, and online hw make up the grade. Rounds test scores generously enough to where you get the next letter grade up on almost all the exams. Don't skip too much or you'll have no clue what's going on. Overall, decent class.

Comment:
Kutan is not a good teacher, but the material is easy and if you study a B is easily achievable. He has no remorse for students. He had to throw out 6 questions on the first test because they either didn't have a correct answer or his English was so bad the sentence made absolutely no sense. Same deal for Tests 2 and 3, tons of error. Avoid.

He is difficult to understand so you have to pay attention. He gives a lot of homework but most of his grades come from his 4 exams. You need to actually use the Econlab. It does help. Don't blow it off. You can have 1 whole page of notes for the tests. He is pretty dry but pay attention. Attendence isn't mandatory but I would suggest going.

Dr. Kutan is a very straightforward professor. While the lectures in class are typically focused around the powerpoints, all of his material can be clearly understood if you read the chapter in the textbook. He gives a practice exam prior to the test which gives the student a clear sense of what to expect. Only 3 grades in the class so study hard.

Worst professor I've ever had. Do not be the unlucky student to take a class with Kutan. The only thing that gets graded is 3 exams, and to study he gives a practice exam with the wrong answers.

The class contained three exams and and about 12 quizzes which were 40 questions in 40 minutes. Was not an easy class, would not take him again.

I look at the online lecture before class and understand even more when I listen to his lecture in the class. He explains his lecture carefully. He also replies my emails within a day and gives really good explanations. I love how he lets us take the quiz every week. The test is similar to the quizzes so I know what to study to the test.

I stopped go to his classes because he does not care about the students, neither to the subject, I have difficulty understanding his lecture, I send him emails but he did not even bather to reply to see whats the problem, I end droping the class, Please AVOID HIM IN ANY COST. He is there just for the salary. I'm sorry for that but its the truth.

Took the online class and have to say I found it pretty straight forward. He prepares his online class in a very organized way and while it can be a difficult subject matter I found his recorded lectures to be very helpful. Quiz every sun night with 3 midterms and a final. If you need a macro class take him online, just do the work, you'll be fine.

HORRIBLE!! The worst professor i have ever had. He is extremely unreasonable and does not care if you succeed. He has zero passion for teaching and is only in it for the salary. He makes you sign the syllabus calling it a contract. He assigns a final paper and if it is not done exactly how he wants it he will assign a zero without reading it.

Don't get me wrong he's hilarious! And it was nice taking a hybrid class but don't be fooled this class is NOT easy! He really makes you work for it, if you have to take his class make sure you're familiar with every single outcome or you won't do well on his tests. He does give extra credit & make sure you follow directions on the paper!

His grades are multiple choice. Many of his tests are based on application more than the actual definitions and material. He bases many of his problems on real life situations but does not teach clearly enough to show how certain aspects of the economy affect each other. He has a paper at the end of the semester that is very difficult.

This class is not hard. I never went to lecture, it was a hybrid class so you really don't need to. Never took Economics before, I would read the textbook chapters and then I would do the practice exams about 3 days before an exam. So far I have a B. The most annoying part is the online assignments and the paper due at the end of the semester.

Do NOT take his hybrid class. You will struggle the entire time. The study guides are NOTHING like the tests. Plus side is no homework.
