DO NOT TAKE WITH HIM at all. He is the worst professor I've ever had. His tests are very hard because the questions on the tests are nothing like the problems on the book or homework. Doesn't teach what other professors do. He did not give a lot of example. He did not use the board at all. He has very bad hand writing. I don't recommend him.

DO NOT TAKE HIM as a professor. He is a nice guy, but he does a lecture every single day with horrible hand written notes, very poor at explaining. Quiz every Wednesday, too old to understand blackboard, & iMath is literal hell. The only good thing about this class is that he only makes you spend $20 on StatCrunch.

Literally do not ever take this class. Save yourself the stress and tears. He doesn't use blackboard and he not clear on your grade when you ask him. He is actually the worst professor I've ever had. He is not consistent with grading at all. Seriously take this with a different professor!

Professor Long is a kind person and has a clear love for math but is absolutely terrible at explaining the examples you do on the board. His tests are hard because the questions on the tests are nothing like the problems on the quizzes or homework however is is a lenient grader on his tests and quizzes

Comment:
Prof. Long is a gifted mathematician and incredibly kind, but his class is difficult. He lectures the whole class, and struggles with teaching at a level everyone can understand. His tests are also very tricky, but he grades them fairly, You will need a study buddy/group outside of class if you plan to pass.

Comment:
Dr. Long is a great person, and you can tell that he enjoys and has a passion for math. However, this does not translate to the class. He often leaves examples unsolved and problems unanswered. Our class was not allowed to use calculators on the exam, which would be fine if he did not use difficult functions. I would not recommend taking him.

Kind professor, and he wants you to succeed. However, he lectures the entire class, and if you don't get, which in my case I often didn't, there's no going back and you have to figure it out on your own. Find a buddy to do homework with and you'll be fine. I recommend him as a whole, just expect to do outside work to fully understand the material.

I LOVE professor Long. He has the cheesiest humor and I love it. HIs methods are odd but they keep you interested. I've never missed a class because I feel he would hold me accountable. Students skip a lot and get angry with him when they fail but clearly its their fault. This dude is awesome and would take him again in a heartbeat.

NOT a good professor. Doesn't teach what other professors do. The concept wasn't difficult. The fact of understanding something he hadn't yet taught angers him and he is too full of himself and his own intelligence to help others who don't understand. You either get it or not. Called me stupid in class for answering in a new way. NOT RECOMMENDED!

There is a ridiculous amount of homework, and the homework is way harder than the examples in class and in the book. Also the book really sucks - 1 or 2 easy examples and then a ton of insanely hard problems in the book. He seems nice, but just doesn't explain the material very well.

Worst Professor I've ever had. He doesn't explain everything and he wasn't very helpful when I met one on one with him. There is a ton of homework and the tests are nothing like the homework. He gives you problems that you have never seen before and are a million times harder than the homework. Would not recommend him to anyone.

He is a GREAT professor, he knows what he is talking about. If you show up to every class, listen to what he has to stay, ask question and study you should do fine. If you don't understand something don't be afraid to ask him. His goal is for you not to like math but for you and math to be friends. I was definitely recommend him to anyone!

Well, hardest class of my life. Nuff said. He's a smart, very approachable prof. But he is ridiculously difficult. The exams were a about 15x more difficult than homework and practice problems taught in lecture. Though, I feel well prepared for Calc 3, compared to the other class, I wish the exams would have been easier, and grading less stringent.

Mr. Long is a Awesome professor. He is like the Bill Nye of the mathematics department. You have to be there for classes. Those who complain about him probably didn't go to class regularly, he doesn't slow down for Slackers. I don't like math much at all but he made the subjects really interesting. Tests are hard but Great Professor! Recommended!

Well, Prof Long is an absolutely great guy, but an extremely tough prof, Calc 2 isn't an easy class either. I feel like I didn't learn much at first due to his tests, but that's not true. I learned quite a bit compared to those in other classes, he just has killer tests. Do the HW & you'll pass. He's just on another level intellectually.

He is definitely a unique professor in that he engages the students. As meeting a General Education requirement I think this class was easy, and the teacher was helpful.

I'm not a math person, but concepts can be easy for me to grab with any teacher but him. He's nice, but asking him a question means going way in depth and explaining things in the same way for a second time. Not clear at all and I wouldn't recommend him unless you really want a challenge.

Do NOT take this professor. I absolutely love math and was very good at calculus in high school with no troubles. In his class i was always lost and confused. Too smart to teach in my opinion. Knows his stuff but picks the hardest examples and describes things in odd ways. Online and book homework all the time. Exams are HARD :( Take at own risk!

If you are an English Major this is the math class for you. If you are a math major this will be the worst class of your semester. I enjoy my proofs class more. I wrote more papers/pages in this class than my English class, and got more points taken off for grammar than content.
