He wants you to read like four books outside of class which isn't hard, BUT he talks in circles just like the books do. Nothing makes sense and he says that if it doesn't click then it won't ever click.. it's finals week and NOTHING has clicked..

Comment:
Dennis is extremely passionate about his classes. It's hard to not appreciate the care he has for it. His material just wasn't interesting to me. Very nice guy. Has a few papers that he gives throughout the semester. As long as you show effort, you'll get a good grade. He grades based on what you put into it, not right answers necessarily.

I love his classes! He's the good kind if crazy you want in a professor and is kind. He will be late (is always talking to students) and will run over (very passionate about phi). He will challenge you, but not out of disrespect so don't be afraid to be active in class. Be prepared to read and take pop quizzes. Exams are usually take home papers.

He's a great professor who goes above and beyond to help his students. Ever wonder why he's late? Because he talks to every student that has a question after class. Not to mention the students that pop into his office for personal advice. He does ramble, but that's part of PHI. If you want hard data spouted at you PHI is not the section to take.

Unclear teaching, curriculum, and grading. Learned as much in a semester of his teaching as I did in a week of other philosophy courses. If you want a real philosphical course do not take his class. He talks in circles as though he just wants to get the course over with.

Professor Miller is a passionate teacher. He observes the world in a unique way and challenges students to recognize the narrowness of their own views. He is always late because he helps students, even giving his own time to do philosophical counseling. Relaxed, low pressure. Must be mature to do well. Love him and have had many classes with him.

great teacher, have to read 3 books. Be in class in order to take the quizes. As long as you read and keep your journal together you will get an A. He was a little late everyday but if you forgot to read its good to skim the chapter then :) He makes you think, and opens your eyes to alot. Great Class, he really cares about the subject.

This could possibly be the worst class i ever been in. all he does is talk about random worthless stuff the whole class period and does nothing to help you learn anything about religion. its all a bunch of nonsense and its almost unbearable to sit thru his class. i wouldnt reccomend him to anyone.. by far the worst class/teacher i have ever been in

There are few more words describe this lunatic beyond "idiotic", "unorganized", "uninteresting", and just plain annoying! Late to class at least 10 minutes EVERY DAY, assignments and exams were utterly confusing and unclear, and the class was near impossible to sit through. All he did was ramble and scream... AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!!

Good Teacher. Very interested in the topic. If you don't go to class, it isn't going to kill you, but it does help. The reading is alright and the tests are open book.

Dr. Miller's class is laid back, just like him. With that said, you will come out of the class knowing a lot more about the topic and about yourself.

I dreaded taking this class when I signed up for it, but now I'm very interested in the subject. Extremely knowledgable and ethusiastic. He is laid back and willing to work with you. He can be forgetful at times, but its not bad. He can be very funny as well. If you like lectures and writing this class is for you. I'd recommend him.

Horrible. He's usually at least ten minutes late, and always holds class at least five minutes over. The texts assigned are confusing and even if you read them, the quizzes are still hard to answer. Final isn't too bad, but he takes off points and never says why. Rambles and yells a lot. Don't take unless you're really patient.

I took this class because I heard about Miller from others. They were right. He is as interesting as he is compassionate and knowledgible. If you don't understand him, it's because your not letting his words and questions get under your skin and cause the kind of deep personal introspection that is his goal. Chat with him in the smoking area...

Maybe he did a little too many drugs back in the 60's, im not sure...kinda gives that hippie vibe.fun guy, entertaining in class.very passionate, you can tell that philosophy is his life.I would recommend him,as long as youre ready to take a look at your own life and beliefs.he will challenge them. he will make you think. he will be late for class.
