Comment:

Worst associate professor I have ever had, in ten years of higher education. His exams are unintelligible, and require multiple clarifications during the test period. He chastises students, and self aggrandizes regularly. Stay away from this man at all costs. Yes, I'm a little bitter. I had a 3.9 on 24 hours before this class.

Dr. Wright will challenge you, test your resolve, teach you to think independently, grade you toughly but fairly, expect your best, help you understand, be there to answer questions, and be there for you. He expects your very best, but you will leave knowing how to apply the material. Sorry, Dr. Wright, no chilli-pepper, man rules.

Dr. Wright teaches a challenging class and grades tough, but by the end you actually learn how to apply the material. He teaches for practicianers using the material not just a regurgitation of the information. He has a unique personality, but I found it a nice break from the normal academic.

Comment:

Dr. Wright is downright rude to students paying to come to class. Rather than answering student questions factually he replies sarcastically and usually with an inappropriate joke. He doesn't reference the book at all but uses lots of way too long and not helpful examples from his life in an attempt to be funny. This does not help anyone learn.

Definately one of the harder professors in the MPA program, I would say about 25% of students end up having to take one of his classes over again due to receiving a C. Talks down to his students, a bit of an ego maniac, and downright rude in some instances. Also, goes off on story tangents that take away from his lectures. Does know his stuff tho

Dr. Wright is the classic Graduate level instructor. He expects you to work hard to learn the material and to study for exams. By the time you are taking his class you've chosen to make gov't your career and as such you are expected to have a vested interest. He's a hard A but not impossible. I A'd in HR and B'd in 6104. Also learned a ton in both.

Avoid this guy. Dr. Wright has the worst grading system I have yet to see in my four years of school. Nothing is graded accurately nor do his suggestions make sense. He never seems to be pleased with what you turn in the first time around. After doing correction he'll give you a bump.

Very dry and hard to understand. Constantly lets class out late, summer classes will run from 6 to 10pm. Says harsh and rude comments to students. Still, he understands the material and is passionate about it. His classes are required, so you'll just have to suck it up.

Hard but fair. He cares about making you learn. Not the best presenter of information, but he is always willing to go over any questions. He is very available for help and gives good feedback. Makes you earn your grades and always gives the oppurtunity to improve your work, but you will have to make it better to get a better grade.

Actually reads and considers what students write. Great feedback and constructive criticism. You will get all the help you ask for. Good sense of humor. Real world experience enhances academics. Never lets class out early.

Very Funny Guy! He loves to pick on the current political situation without thinking twice. He gives a ton of overhead projections that you have to copy down, so you basically spend all class copying notes. He never really talks about the book but if you don't read it you will not know test question

Self admits that he would rather research. Don't even waste your time on trying to understand you grade, you never will. Writes feedback all over paper, the only problem is that you can't understand it. When you talk to him you leave more confused.
