In COM200 Prof Gehrman requires weekly discussion posts and answers along with weekly quizzes on the textbook material. Projects are fun and she offers options for those who don't want to turn in a recording of themselves. Syllabus and expectations are clear making this a low-stress and informative class. Great professor - caring.

Jody is a wonderful teacher that seriously makes you think about your writing skills more in-depth. She's a very compassionate teacher and is always looking out for her students. A real joy to work with in the classroom.

Jody is really fun. There are five speeches, and I believe that she is a very generous grader. Also, if you are afraid of public speaking she does do her best to help you, and grades you fairly. You watch a lot of TED Talks to see examples. The only grade you receive besides speeches are in-class assignments so you need to show up.

Jody's Introduction to film class is ridiculous. She expects you to read the 50 page chapters from the text book. If you don't read you will not you will not get the incredibly vague questions she asks on her tests. Tests are all open book, but a lot of keywords are unfindable in the index. This class is taken way to seriously.

I am currently taking two classes with her, and it is a very laid back classroom with a lot of discussion on what is going on in the chapters (we are expected to read one a week at home). On our presentation essays, she says she is not such a stickler because we aren't in an English class, which is nice, too. I would definitely recommend her!

Jody is a good teacher. She cares about her students and is willing to help students that are struggling. I didn't care for the textbook we used, but she was a good sport when listening to my complaints about the text. I'm not a fan of English teachers, but she was my favorite teacher that semester.

Jody is a fantastic teacher. She is very knowledgeable when it comes to the English language and is able to impart that knowledge with clarity and effectiveness. If you have any interest in English- particularly play writing and novel writing- Jody is the teacher to go to.

Jody is amazing, theres no 2 ways about it. She's super helpful, fun, quirky, adorable, and talented. She's always graded fairly and encouraged creativity. I've written essays on chastity belts and Prince for god's sake! I'm taking as many of her classes as I can.

This was by far the best english class i have taken. I learned a lot and enjoyed coming to class. The essays got a little tricky, but they were clearly assigned. Tests were straight forward and the class had many good discussions. I enjoyed having open discussions and seeing different view points. Jody is a great teacher!!!
