Comment:

At first I was taken aback by her brisk attitude and her elevated vocabulary, but I got to know this New Yorker and her sharp wit and dry humor. She is at true academic, and I got As in every course. I also saw her fight for the rights of prisoners and the rights of disabled students on campus, as well as, all disabled people. Complex but cool.

She is useless. Not a nice teacher and really not a nice person either. Any effort to receive help and you'll quickly regret it. Made multiple mistakes while grading which ended up dropping me a grade. When trying to explain this obvious mistake I was berated and she refused to change my grade. You can't reason with an unreasonable person.

Its very easy.But u need to know wat ur dealing with.slides have only textbook stuff-its a waste writing down each word in 'em.Its lot more important to listen to her: 1-coz she says some VERY imptant stuff, 2-coz she also says crap & u've to pay attention fr the imp stuff. Read the text before & after each class.Exams are straight from the text.

Just to echo some of the other comments made. This is THE worst professor I've took at SJSU. I'm an A/B student and I pulled all nighters for this class. Her powerpoints are ridiculous and her study guides are useless.

Worst teacher I've ever had at San Jose State. Recently SJSU's JS department made it so noone can see the teachers for classes before school starts so noone could pick favorites teachers and look them up on here. I think this teacher is the reason. She couldn't fill her classes cause noone wants to take her. She needs to retire.

Truly the only time you need to attend class is the class before a test as she gives a review sheet and goes over the essay questions. If you read and get the main points you should pass the class. I found I overstudied for the first test and lessened my future study sessions and got an A in the class. She's not a horrible teacher but is boring.

Where to begin. I took this class hoping the good comments would be correct and the bad ones were just upset about their grades. Sadly they have a right to be upset. Every negative comment is 99.9% true ie. lectures are PPs of word for word textbook chapters, exams are from authors of the book, and the teacher is senile. Don't take her. seriously.

Most comments are way off from the truth. As with any other class, you get what you put in the class in terms of grades. Took 104 & 118 with her and my 4.00 is still standing. Old school professor: lecture and midterms. Go to class, take notes, prepare for exams off her prep sheets she gives (i.e. do WORK) and you will get the grade you deserve!

Hard to rate her considering she doesn't "teach", Lectures are power points with the title sections of the textbook typed on them and exam review sheets are the bolded words from the chapters... Everything is from the textbook nothing from herown knowledge, which makes me question if she has any. I'm a straight A student who got a C. DO NOT TAKE!!!

Horrible teacher, class was a waste of time. She spent the class reading from the textbook, and her powerpoint was the textbook headers. Had to learn everything from the reading, which was okay because the tests were written by the people who wrote the textbook. Never taking her again; WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

NO HELP at all if you seek help, doesn't respond in any way if you try to contact her. She is TERRIBLE to her student assistant. She literally rips him to shreds in front of the class, and is plain mean-spirited. Her lectures are boring - - you don't need to bother with class except for prior to tests when study sheet is given.

this is not a good teacher to take for any class. I am a straight A student and got a B in her class. She can be extremely mean spirited to her students. I work hard for my grades and don't slack off and felt I couldn't get it right in her class. I got along with her and she didn't have it out for me but I still thought she was a mean teacher.

There's a reason why I got all A+'s in my other classes and got a C in Dr. Hart's class. She is a horrible teacher and she grades students unfairly. If you disagree with her thoughts, trust me, your grade will go down with it. Her test questions are rarely discussed in class. Prepare to fall asleep too,she is very boring. Save yourself. Just DONT.

Advice: Just don't. The woman just pissed me off when she took 2-3 weeks to show films about how Bush sucks. They had NOTHING to do with the class (Theories of Crime and Delinquency). Basically tries to politically indoctrinate the class. Powerpoints are a waste of time to look at. Too much to write here. Avoid at all costs. BTW, I expect a B+.

All these people who leave this bad comments are slackers. I have noticed that students don't want to work for their grade but instead they want it handed to them. She is FAIR!! She tells you what's on the exam everytime! If you can't pass her class, then I am wondering how you even got into college. I would take her again!
