David is very passionate about Music. He is also very knowledgeable about the history of music. He gives good feedback on assignments. He is also humorous in some ways. He uses a lot visual aids to make students remember the music and the name of the song(s) for upcoming tests/exams. Overall, great professor.

This course is great if you're in a busy program, such as myself, and cannot spare much time on your liberals. There were only 3 major evaluations (a precis and 2 tests) and were all very easy in my opinion -- IF you attend class (since there is no textbook required) and study/write based on HIS outlines. *Beware: the course was quite boring.

No exam. Each test study 7 instrumental pieces that sound the same & definitions,He'll play 5. Must write title, composer, answer any other q# there are.

Although he doesn't have a lot of assignments or exams, the down side is, each are worth a lot. If you mess up one, you basically failed to reach that minimum 70% He is pretty funny but he can also be rude Overall, don't hate him, but hate the course

Prof Snable is one of the worst profs I've ever had. For an intro course, he thinks everyone has preliminary knowledge which sucks. Also, his tests are WAY too specific. He'll test you on something he may have only mentioned once. This was supposed to be a bird course, yet is the lowest mark I had in the term.

David Snable is the funniest professor at Ryerson! He's really witty, sarcastic, and passionate about music history. However, it is mandatory that you come to his class and copy his notes and memorize them for the tests, which will be easy if you it study hard. He also marks his essays/precis hard you cannot wing it.

My favourite prof I've ever had! He is hilarious, and loves what he teaches. He is very knowledgable and very clear. If you take good notes you will be fine for the tests. I did extremely well in the class by listening. The precis essay was of average difficulty, but if you follow his tips, you can get a great grade! Take this class!

One of my favourite professors and I've had many! Everything you need to know for the tests is written on the board when you come to class. The subject itself isn't extremely stimulating however his quirky sarcastic comments made me want to come to class even at 8 am. He's hilarious as long as you don't have a dry sense of humour and get sarcasm.

He's a fairly good professor. The test are straight forward if you study the material. However, he's an extremely hard marker for the essay. The mark you receive does not reflect your knowledge of the class materal what so ever. If he doesn't like your topic, he'll grade you unfairly.

Not the most interesting prof but everything he talks about in class is what you get on the test. He tells you exactly what to study and you don't need the textbook, just his notes. Good course to take if you have a busy semester as mostly everything is just memorizing. Best of all, no FINAL EXAM, just two tests and an essay.

David is a very knowledgable about music; he knows his stuff. I adore his sassy little comments about 95% of the course content. Essay was a bit difficult and so were the tests, but overall I really enjoyed him. If you're interested in the course, you'll do great

Helpful prof, as he posts notes and all course texts online (no textbook). But lectures were often dry and not engaging because of his delivery although material was somewhat interesting (pop music). Quizzes are often really detailed; a lot of memorization.

He's an amusing and reasonable professor. His tests were very easy and straightforward, no textbook was required. In my opinion, he's certainly not as tough as most people make him out to be when it comes to essay-marking. If you are interested in music history or have prior knowledge, expect an easy A+.

Not an easy marker for essays, you have to attend every class and really pay attention or you will be lost. It's hard to want to stay in his lectures because he can be extremely boring but if you put in some effort you'll get a decent grade. Didn't use the textbook at all for this class, he told us not to buy it.

Mumbled speech. He tried to cram a 4 month term into 5 weeks - didnt work out well. Had to research on my own to do well. Proofread your essays!! no apostrophes in years ie. "1960s" Nice guy - no class discussions, straight up memorization. Easy tests.
