Mary changed my life, not just my academic life, but my whole life. She gently, and not so gently pushed me to explore the edges of my creativity and encouraged me to step outside of the ordinary. Sure, students can skate in her classes, but in doing so they miss out on one of the most brilliant artists and future mentors

Mary seriously changed my life. She saw a natural talent and convinced me to change majors and pursue it. Her purpose as a teacher is to inspire you and help you realize your vision. Its your responsibility to show up and be engaged and ask questions. To this day she is my greatest influence and I look up to her!

Mary is an amazing person. She will let you do whatever you want in class. Very relaxed class. If you are looking for intense assistance and critique, you MUST approach her and tell her what you are looking for. She is a highly accepting optimist so she will make you feel great. But, tell her you are serious and she can crack the whip!

AIBs clay studio is a JOKE. The size, consistency of glaze buckets NOT being full, no storage, tiny kilns, etc. I was a grad student and Mary taught me little, I learned by watching videos online. I was making mistakes multiple times that were only obvious after I started to use my work, that should have been obvious to an experienced clay artist.

mary klay out of her ****ing mind and she's amazing. her eyes are wild and full of life, like she lives on another planet, but she always listens closely to what you're saying and gives great advice. she has such a wonderful artistic vision. she can offer a structured curriculum or will let you do your own thing if you have a specific vision.
