I had professor Cohen for Contracts. She was on point and extremely knowledgeable on the subject matter. The course was demanding. but that is to be expected in Law School. I would absolutely take another course she was teaching.

I'm really surprised by some of these comments because this professor is extremely intelligent and artfully weaves in other subject matter. She makes you work for your grade and has high energy but she is very fair.

I dont understand all these negative postings...Prof. Cohen is highly energetic and entertaining. If you dont do the work, dont blame HER for poor grades...this is Law school, not 1st Grade.

Cohen means well and has lofty ideals, but she rambles. The class recordings and CALI lessons are helpful. She doesn't teach very well and gives unfair exams.

Cohen is a terrible professor who does not use the Socratic method. 1) She screws with the school's rules, thereby hurting current and former students, 2) leaves her post to be a visiting professor at another school in the middle of the school year (makes alot of sense, being dean and all) and 3) resigns as associate dean all done in 1 year.

Comment:

Lawyers need the skill to communicate effectively. Professor Cohen lacks this skill, yet tries to impart the need on her students. She says by limiting our asners, we are learning to communicate. She says she wants one thing and contradicts herself later. Avoid if possible

She is very helpful outside of class in office hours but essentially not at all useful during class. She means well but does not impart her knowledge to her students in a coherent fashion. Luckily I passed but it was a long hard journey. I wouldn't take her class voluntarily.

At the moment, Cohen is a visiting professor. Let's hope it stays that way. She is a terrible. Her exam taking rules are ridiculous ie only write 1500 words for the 2000 issues that pop up. I'm not alone in this. Evidently, students at her former school dislike her so much that she came running to our school.

Idiotic professor. In class, ALWAYS stressed she doesn't want kitchen sink answers. Then she gives a kitchen sink essay question. Only allows one blue book, skip lines, and don't write over the margins essays. And she wonder why the business org class gave her the worst evaluations she ever receieved.

Talks about herself constantly instead of the class. Would have probably save more than 10 minutes each class if we didn't have to hear about her family history or her Russian lit degree. Thinks she cares about students by being available and asking for comments about her teaching. But it's all useless.

WAY too loud, yelling constantly with an annoying voice. Scatterbrained, useless stories about random junk. Very annoying and not very helpful as to learning the material, UNLESS you are in the 1% minority that actually enjoys her "in your face" teaching style. She would probably be the best undergrad law teacher but it just isn't working here.

Be very Prepared for this class by doing the reading otherwise it is very boring and you will be embarrassed when randomly called on. There is a lot of subject matter in a short span of time. Contracts is not for the faint of heart!

I had her for first semester academic sucess! What a waste of time the class was! Should be optional...as for her she is an alright teacher! Very excitable and in your face! Heard that she is a good substanative law professor! Needs to chill though!

Let's be serious, Prof Cohen knows what she is talking about, she is more than willing to do what she can for any student in any subject. She is a person that you will either get along with or not, if you are in the or not you should at least be aware that you have learned something valuable and I am sure that everyone has bad days.

The negative comments are crap really. She is always available after class to clarify everything. It's a hard class, but you actually learn something. If people are upset about their grades they should consider the fact that the school has a curve, and theres really no way around it- so if you got anything in the 70's consider yourself lucky.
