Anyone who says Dr. Ugolini is a bad professor or discouraging must have been with another Ugolini because Dennis is the BEST. It's physics so yes lectures are heavy and a lot of the content is pretty difficult, but he is always very helpful during office hours and is very engaging and entertaining during class lectures. Would recommend!

One of the best teachers I've ever had! He has a great sense of humor and his lectures are entertaining and informative. The class itself is not an easy A (which is to be expected at Trinity) but he is easy to reach both in and outside of office hours. Highly recommend.

Honestly.... He's not too bad... But he is unpredictable. He disagrees with EVERYTHING you say. He might be doing it to "help" but it's really discouraging. He is a very very smart professor and I respect him for that but he has an "I'm too smart for you guys" kind of attitude.

Amazing professor. In a discussion-based class, he's hard to beat. He really cares about what he talks about, and he knows more than I ever will. He makes you really think, which can be difficult for some, but extremely useful for anything in life. Couldn't ask for much more.

I find that he is mostly a bad professor, being disrespectful to students. He is not supportive- one time he even laughed at me when I made a mistake!

LOVE LOVE LOVE his seminar! Some people think he is a hard grader, but he is really not! He just wants students to stop telling him what they think he wants to hear. He's unpredictable, which keeps the class exciting, and he's hilarious. He's the best, I will absolutely take another class!

Probably the best physics professor at Trinity. Has an amazing grasp of all physics topics, and can explain them clearly. He is funny, and makes topics easy to understand (even Quantum). Can't recommend highly enough.

This was probably one of the most interesting courses that I took this year. The most challenging thing by far was the 10 page paper we were supposed to write, but Ugolini actually made the process really simple by spreading out the due dates for drafts and outlines, which was incredibly helpful. Overall it's a good class, and I would recommend him

His seminar is a lot of fun, if you're slightly interested in weird topics. His humor is awesome, and he has really amazing stories he shares often. I was very entertained in the class. Attendance isn't required, but I felt compelled to go to each class. His papers are semi-challenging, but they make you a better writer.

I took him for Intro. to Mechanics and Intro. to EM, and he is outstanding. He's funny, passionate about physics, very knowledgeable, and willing to help. The material can be challenging at times, but if you work hard, it'll show.

Guys legit. test are just like questions on homework maybe easier, gives lame quizzes that everyone fails and they are on random days so you go to class. This guy is the most stereotypical physics teacher

I love physics before taking this class...it was terrible! i learned nothing about electricity or magnetism...all he did was write equations on the board, which is fine, if you explain the theory behind them, but he never did! I managed to get an A in the class, but only because i worked my butt off...it had nothing to do with him

He's extremely intelligent and likes to make people think. His preference in essay style was difficult to figure out at first, though. But this first year seminar class was very interesting and fun.

Really interesting seminar. He is a tough paper grader but the stuff he will teach you if you go get help will improve your writing drastically. Lots of work but probably one of the most most entertaining seminar.

Ugolini is fantastic -- the best in the department! He is very hard, though, every homework seems to contain at least one "screw you" problem. Go to his office hours! He is a little intimidating sometimes -- he has this pronounced tendency to write gobs of math on the board, oblivious to student confusion. Ask questions! Don't be shy! It helps!

Ugolini ROCKS!! His class is VERY hard. However, he is easy to find outside of class and is very willing to help you. His lectures are very interesting, although he does go off in the math sometimes. BTW, he looks like Dilbert.
