Comment:

She is a nice woman but I would never take any of her courses again. She is a tough grader first off, takes FOREVER to get back to you, and gives papers back to back about very uninteresting stuff. She is also very lecture heavy and will ramble on about irrelevant things during the whole class. Take a different professor if you can.

By far the worst professor I've taken. Takes FOREVER to get your grades & no feedback. I would email her everyday and wouldn't get a reply till a week later. I am a very hard working student & she was the toughest grader ever. she expects you to be perfect at English and criticizes everything you do! TONS of Essays! Don't take her you'll regret it!

I took English 101 online and it was horrible. Provides terrible feedback and doesnt respond in a timely manner ever. No matter how hard you try it wont be good enough and doesnt grade on the criteria that is said to be graded. Id suggest someone else.

Awful, very disappointed.. never replied to emails. my writing was never good enough and im an A student.. DONT recommended Holly for an online english teacher.. not sure how she is in class.. with help and advice. but she stated that she rarely gives out As on anything. ridiculous, and an unfair professor.

Horrible. Doesnt answer emails & doesnt care about students. She will post assignment at the beginning of the week and you wont hear from her for a week after that. She takes forever to grade assignments.

please do not do this to yourself. she is a caring person but she will talk for so long. she says in her syllabus that she won't stand at the front of the class and talk the whole time. sure enough, she SITS there and talk the whole time. she says "uhhh" so much like she doesn't know what she's teaching. please find your self another professor.

It may be that I was in a terrible class rather that the teacher but she never took control of the class the class often talked about her while lecturing. She put us in groups that were not good most the class did not do the work made it difficult for those of us wanting to learn. All my ideas were often made fun of by other students .

Pappas is a very nice person but she will talk the whole time and you won't be able to get any classwork done. I also wish that she would of been more clear on some assignments , I felt as if she was all over the place.

Find someone else. She lectures on and on about the most simple concepts and struggles to hold your attention. The essays she assigns are extremely boring to write about, ex.- playgrounds, problems in your community, and how customers act in stores. She also requires you to submit everything to an online blog which sucked. Explore other options.

I'm taking her online class and it's absolutely horrible. Would not recommend whatsoever. She's terrible about getting back to you, not clear with what she wants from you, gives stranges topics to write about and just gives you assignments on top of assignments. Take anybody but her, you'll be better off.

DO NOT TAKE. I'm currently in her english class and I'm writing this because its the only thing keeping me awake. HORRIBLY BORING class. She doesnt stop talking and she assigns papers one after another. She just gave a due date for a paper and the rough draft for the next paper is the class after.

She talks from beginning, to the end of the class nonstop. I'll fall asleep in her class and wake up to her still talking. She gives too many writing assignments back to back. Take advantage of the time to do it in class though. She's nice at least.

Although I managed to do well in the class, I found she was of no help when it came to learning new material. She talked your ear off for the majority of the class, threw a bunch of assignments at you and generally taught you nothing. I did well specifically because I taught myself what I needed to know for each assignment.

Comment:

Late with literally everything, doesn't get back to you on time, and very nit picky with her grading. Class overall wasn't that hard I guess but it was hard to tell whether she was grading mistakes or just things she would have done differently. Absolutely avoid if you don't want the extra stress of an always late for everything teacher.

Enjoyed this class. Class attendance really was not the most important thing as long as you stayed current with your work. I enjoyed that the essays were posted on a blog and like the robot theme. I did not like at first, but enjoyed it a lot to my surprise. Helped with scholarship and other essays after the class. Great teacher. No textbook!

RUN FROM THIS COURSE. Nothing original to write about, and not only does she never give grades on the assignments, but she rarely allows any time between when she gives feedback on first draft to the due date of final draft. You are literally writing about ROBOTS, and will not have any idea how you are doing. RUN!

This was my first experience with an online class... it was cool. Not amazing not terrible. Holly is nice and is usually easy to get a hold of. Assignments weren't always clear at first, but fair opportunities are given to fix errors and finish work.
