I had been told by many that this freshman biology class was meant to "weed out" the kids who wouldn't do well in the field going on. The tests are difficult, and the average scores were usually in between 40s-60s. You are expected to know things that aren't necessarily taught in class; if you're naturally good at bio you'll be ok, if not good luck

Very good professor for the most part, you can tell that he truly cares about what he teaches and wants to share his passion for it, but sometimes it can be easy to get lost because he really likes to get into detail and occasionally jump from idea to idea

Very smart. On the other hand has no idea how to teach it... just rambles on in front of class then asks trick questions randomly to students. Fall behind you get left behind. Plain and simple.

Professor Hampton offers every opportunity for a student to be successful. The class isn't a bird course, but if you are willing to work for your grade, you'll do well. A benefit is you don't do lab reports for his Bio 163 class

A god in his own mind, whose powerpoints are so long and so confusing the class was frustrating. Wikipedia was more helpful than he was. Hard tests...multiple multiple choice...up to 8 items in a question. Obviously never taken a course in education.
