Hes a tough grader but hes fair. Make sure you participate throughout the class because that is a good portion of your grade. He does tell a lot of stories but if you arent understanding something he is very accessible and honestly hes really nice if you reach out about not understanding something. He doesnt make you feel dumb for asking.

Awful teacher... doesn't give feedback and his directions are awful. I don't think you could teach a class in more of a bland way.

Comment:

Professor Ferriell is delightfully quirky with a sharp mind. He has put a ton of energy into designing his course in accordance with the research on adult learning principles. As such, there is A LOT of work to do. However, it all builds on itself to reinforce the ideas. Absolutely read his hornbook; it is the key to success in his class.

smart, but he is so confusing. His youtube videos are very helpful, but his class lecture confuses you. Buy his hornbook because class is so confusing. Which I will never understand because his supplemental materials and youtube video lectures are great, but his class lectures are confusing

smart guy who knows his stuff. (He literally wrote the book on contracts) His tests are FULL of ambiguities(designed that way), but if you study a LOT you'll do just fine. you never know what you'll be called on in class, because he uses playing cards with your name on them and shuffles them up each class.

Guy's a tough grader with very high expectations, but you'll learn more than you ever thought possible. Read well and take notes before class so you can give 100% attention during his lectures - they are very helpful.

Best Prof. Cover a vast amount/difficult material. Get his hornbook (he wrote it) and use it to supplement misunderstandings. As I would say for any professor, go to his office hours. He wants you to learn contracts and will answer any questions. Exams are brutal and you'll walk out feeling you failed. Don't stress, everyone does bad. Its curved.

There is no wrong answer (or right) answer when it comes to his exams. As long as you support your stance with relevant rules and analysis, you should do okay. Be sure to pick the path that gives you the best chance to show what you have learned. The reading is really tough to get through. Some of the reading is 40+ pages a night.

He takes a few weeks to get used to. Make sure you read the cases in fine detail. He wants you to learn the material as best you can before class. That being said, he gives you all the key points you need to know and he's a great guy and really wants students to do well. He is always there to help, he even gives out his phone number!

Best professor I have ever had. He may take a few weeks to get used to, but once you do you see how helpful he is being. Makes a dull subject funny and interesting. Wish I could have him teach more of my classes.

He's ok.... He's a very smart guy... and he knows it. His hornbook is very helpful. He's very demanding, but this forces you to learn the material. I'm not a fan of his arrogance. If he calls on you in class and you're not prepared, he will mark you absent and deduct points from your overall grade. I've heard he's a lot better than Turack. ..

Great professor - one of the most challenging I have had, and I learned so much. He'll keep you on your toes in class. He's amazing at getting to a concept by asking questions seemingly unrelated, but then bringing his reasoning full circle. Preparing for his exam made me better in all my classes.
